I have decided to start a new… section? Theme? Series? You know what I mean right? I want to start comparing two products and seeing which one comes out on top. This post is Max Factor VS Milani. I’ll be talking about the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation and the Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer.
Both of these foundations are relatively easily to get a hold of. Max Factor is available online, and in stores like Boots and Superdrug, but Milani is only available to get online from Beauty Bay. The prices are pretty much the same, but if you want to be technical about it, then there is a 1p difference, as the Max Factor foundation is £12.99 and the Milani foundation is £13.
I have the shade Light Ivory 40 in the Max Factor Foundation and 00A Porcelain in the Milani. I don’t think I have the lightest shade in the Face Finity Foundation, as I find it a little dark and have to add lightening drops to get a better match. The Conceal and Perfect foundation is a much better match to my pale skin. I’m pretty sure it’s a new shade to the rest of the range. If you’re after variety than Milani has a wider range of shades, as they have 16 to choose from, but Max Factor has 14.
Top: Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 – Light Ivory 40.
Bottom: Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation – 00A Porcelain.
Both foundations claim to be multi purpose, but I always apply concealer too, as I think it looks better to have the under eyes brightened with a lighter concealer. Both foundations also come with pumps which is extremely useful, and makes the whole thing less messy. Saying that the Face Finity’s lid shows the foundation on it, as it’s clear.
In my opinion the Face Finity foundation is medium to full coverage, where as the Conceal and Perfect is full coverage. If you like full coverage then you will love the Conceal and Perfect. If you want a buildable foundation then the Face Finity is the better one for you.
The thickness differs greatly, as the Face Finity in thinner, but the Conceal and Perfect is really thick. I do find that both oxidize a little throughout the day, so that is worth noting when picking a shade.
I have dry skin, and find the Face Finity works better for it. Face Finity doesn’t cling to any dry patches and it isn’t as matte. The Conceal and Perfect is awful for dry skin. No matter what I do to my skin it always clings to dry patches. I’ve exfoliated and moisturised, but it still shows dryness. This is probably due to the coverage it gives and the matte finish.
Overall both foundations are great! I would love the Milani foundation if it didn’t cling to dry patches, as the coverage is outstanding. The Max Factor Foundation is very good too, but I’m not keen on the finish it gives.
Which one do you prefer?
