Oh wow, it feels so good to finally be able to type this out! We found out that we were blessed with another pregnancy in December 2023, which was the best way to end the year. It was hard to keep it quiet, as we agreed to wait until 12 weeks again, but life got in the way. Life can be cruel, and we had so much going on that it was never the right time to announce. The whole of January and February have been a blur, and the last thing on my mind has been announcing my pregnancy. However, I finally feel ready, so here we are.
We’re having another baby!
As I post this I’m currently 27 weeks, so it feels like we have a lot to catch up on. It’s weird to be over half way, and only getting into everything now. However it is very exciting and I’m so happy to finally be able to tell you that we’re having another baby!
The Due Date
My due date is at the end of August. Which is very special, as it’s the day before my late Nan’s birthday. I know the chances of her being born on this day are slim, but it was still nice to get that date at the first scan.
Finding Out the Gender
Yes, you read that right in the last section; we are having a girl! I had a feeling very early on that we were having a girl, as this pregnancy has been completely different to how I was with Noah. Which I know doesn’t really mean anything, but I ran with it. This pregnancy has been filled with sickness and pains, but luckily the symptoms are calming down now. They still come and go, but I’m feeling a lot better.
Cravings and Food Aversions
I’ve already touched on symptoms, so we’ll skip straight over to the food. As let’s be real, it’s a lot more interesting. In the first trimester cravings were few and far between and I’d struggle to find something to eat. I’ve found myself needing to eat little and often, which is something that I just cannot do. I’m a three meals a day kind of girl, so little and often does not come naturally to me. However if I let myself get too hungry, I’d end up feeling sick and the thought of any food would make me sick. It was a vicious cycle, and I am so glad to not be there anymore.
Cravings started to kick in the second trimester, and I feel like it’s been the most random things. The most reoccurring craving is chicken and mushroom pot noodles; I can’t get enough. The small Chicago Town Pizza’s has been another one that popped out of nowhere, considering I hadn’t had one for around ten years. In typical pregnancy style pickles have been another one. Fun fact: you can ask for a pot of pickles from McDonalds and they will give you LOADS.
My Mental Health
I had to slot this in here, especially after my Welcome Back Post. It might seem reckless to get pregnant again, after suffering from postnatal depression last year. However I feel a million times away from that person and I have steps in place to help. I feel a lot more prepared this time around, but I want to do a full blog post on this and go into a little deeper.
There we have it, that’s all I’ll go into for now. I feel like I’m finally enjoying this pregnancy, and I can’t wait to share my experience with you. I’ll be sharing on here and over on my Instagram.
