If there’s one thing I’ve never been very good with; it’s breakfast. For years, I’d have a big bowl of cereal and find myself hungry again a few hours later. Which obviously is not ideal. I’m also partial to some banana pancakes, but again, not ideal.
So I went in search of something filling and more importantly; tasty.
If it doesn’t taste good then I don’t want it. Then chocolate scrambled oats came along and I have not looked back. I’ve been having it practically everyday and I’m still not sick of it, and my one year old loves them too.
If you’re after a high protein breakfast that will keep you fuller for longer then, this is how to make chocolate scrambled oats.
Why You’ll Love This Scrambled Oatmeal Recipe
-
Packed with Protein: Excellent for sustained morning energy.
-
Toddler Approved: Great for families looking for quick kid-friendly meals.
-
Under 10 Minutes: Perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients for Chocolate Scrambled Oats:
One Banana.
40g Oats
1Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 Egg
Step by Step Method:
1. Mash the banana in a bowl with a fork, then add the oats, cocoa powder and egg and mix until fully combined.
2. Preheat a frying pan, I use a few sprays of fry light too. As you’ll need something so the mixture doesn’t stick.
3. Tip your mixture into the pan and use the fork to pat it down, so it’s flat and even.
4. Leave to cook for 3-5 minutes, and then flip like a pancake and leave to cook.
5. When it’s cooked this is when I break it up into smaller pieces. You can leave them as big or as little as you’d like.
Voila all done!
How to Serve

I love to serve mine with 0% greek yogurt which is where a lot of the protein comes from.
While the oats are cooking I assemble my yogurt bowl and top with any fresh fruit we have in the fridge Which is usually a mix of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
Once the oats have finished cooking I like to let them cool before tucking in, as the hot oats to cold fruit combo really throws me off.
So there we have it. That was how I make chocolate scrambled oats; my favourite breakfast… maybe of all time.

These chocolate oats look delicious and love how you paired them with fruit! I’m horrible with breakfast as well, mostly I just don’t eat it at all and I know that’s not good. I’d definitely want to have this early in the mornings and I bet it is more filling due to the oats! I love using greek yogurt to make things, I will definitely give this a whirl soon, Hannah, thanks for sharing!
Wishing you a wonderful day! 🙂
