Yes, I am cutting it fine with my: ‘New baking post every month’ challenge, but at least it’s here now and oh boy, it’s a good one. This month I decided to make Chocolate Orange Cookies, and they turned out incredible.
This recipe is essentially the same recipe as the Tanya Burr Triple Chocolate cookies, that I have previously baked, but I switched the three types of chocolate out for a Chocolate orange, so if Chocolate Orange isn’t your thing then be sure to check out that post.
This is How to Bake Chocolate Orange Cookies.
275g Self Raising Flour
300g Caster Sugar
200g Unsalted Butter
1 Large Egg
75g Cocoa Powder
A Dash of Milk (Optional)
A Whole Terry’s Chocolate Orange
1 . Preheat the oven to 200 Celsius/ 400 Fahrenheit / Gas Mark 6. Line your baking trays with grease proof paper. As I don’t have grease proof paper, I buttered the trays instead.
2 . Mix the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, and then crack in the egg and continue mixing until smooth.
3 . Add the flour and cocoa powder and continue mixing. If the mixture is too dry you can add a splash of milk.
4. Break the chocolate into different size pieces and add to the mixture making sure to mix it through properly.
5. Divide the dough into equal sized balls, and then gently squash them onto the tray. Remember the cookies will grow in the oven, so don’t make them too big and be sure to leave plenty of space between them. I definitely made a few cookies too big, and I didn’t push them down enough.
6 . Bake for 11 minutes
7 . Remove from the tray and let them cool on a wire rack
That was How to Bake Chocolate Orange Cookies.
