2017 Favourites

2017 Favourites

A little late, but we finally have my 2017 favourites! I love favourites post, so of course I was going to do this one. I’ve tried to include a mix of things, but it’s quite a long list, so prepare yourselves. Here we have my 2017 favourites:

The Body Shop | Body Milk

I absolutely love this stuff. I’ve heard countless people talk about the importance of moisturising after a shower, but who has the time for that right? Turns out I do. I thought it would take ages, but with this it takes just around 4-5 minutes. The spray bottle makes it extremely easy to use, so I’d definitely recommend going for the 250ml. The best thing about this for me, is that it doesn’t leave that greasy feeling. It’s refreshing and both scents smell amazing. The Body Shop only do this in Coconut and Moringa, but I love both of them.

Urban Decay | Naked 1 Palette

This is by far my favourite palette. My safe go to look is this palette, as it’s everything I love. My favourite shade is Sidecar as it’s makes a stunning lid colour. I know a few people complain that this palette doesn’t have enough mattes; which it doesn’t. I love a shimmer though, so I don’t mind.

Redken | One United All in One Multi Benefit Treatment

I included this in my January favourites (where some of the text is pink, and I have no idea how to change it) I still love it now. I’m on the same bottle, but getting towards the end of it. It’s lasted over a year, so I really can’t complain. This was a lifesaver on holiday, because I normally struggle with getting the bobble out of my hair after a trip to the beach, but this made it so easy to get out. You can use this on wet hair or dry hair, so it’s a great all-rounder. It also has 25 benefits, so you can cut down on the amount of products you need to travel with.

The Beach

I went on Holiday in January last year and was happy to go to the beach and go in the sea. This is a massive thing for me, as I used to hate the beach. Mainly because I felt self-conscious, and it would get on top of me. I remember going to the beach a few years ago, and staying in my coverup laying underneath an umbrella, and I wouldn’t move. For 2017 I got myself off the sun-bed, and into the sea and made some absolutely amazing memories with my family.

The Body Shop | Lightening Drops

This was a lifesaver in 2017; drastic, but true. I’m really pale and often struggle to find foundations that match my ghostly complexion, so I started to mix a few drops of this into the foundation on the back of my hand. Which led to a much better match. I’m on my third bottle now, as I use it pretty much everyday. I was a little unsure at first because of the price, but they are really worth it. The only problem I have, is that I aren’t keen on the little dropper, because I find that it doesn’t dispense the product very well/ easily.

My Mum Got Married

(A little worse for wear)

It was the most beautiful day, and so fun too. It is a day I will never forget, as everything about it was spot on. It’s the first wedding I’ve been involved in, and the whole getting ready process is so fun, but it seemed to go fast. One minute we were having breakfast and then it seemed to fly into needing to get into the dresses. It still feels strange that my mum has a different surname to me now, but I’m hoping it’ll settle in soon.

ColourPop | Super Shock Highlight in Spoon

I don’t know what happened this year, but I started to love a really intense glittery highlight. I know a lot of people don’t like chunky highlighters that contain lots of glitter, but this one has definitely been an exemption for me. It’s not the strongest colour, but it leaves you glistening and glittering like there’s no tomorrow. It’s fab for nights out, but once you get used to wearing it; every other highlight seems subtle.

Spectrum | Tall Tapered Blender B06

(Yes it’s dirty, don’t judge me)

I use this brush every time I do my eyeshadow, as it’s amazing. It’s the perfect shape that’s amazing for blending and applying a transition colour. Spectrum brushes in general are some of my favourites, but the B06 wins hands down.

The Co-Operative Irresistible Triple Chocolate Cookies

I know it’s New Year and January is always health kick season, but you really need to try these cookies. They are by far the best ones I’ve tried, and not to brag, but I’ve tried a lot of Triple Chocolate Cookies. These are a little pricey in cookie terms, but they’re worth it. I used to work at Co-Op, and I mainly miss it for the discount, so I could get these. (No Shame)

Too Faced | Hangover 3 in 1 Setting Spray

I love Too Faced; the pink, girly packaging draws me in every-time, but it’s not so bad, as the products are amazing. I’m now on my second bottle of this, as I use it for the three uses, but always end up spraying too much. It contains Coconut Water which is amazing for dry skin, so not only is it moisturising; it smells good too.

Creating a Scrapbook

I’ve always loved the ideas of scrapbooks, but I never bothered with it, as I always put it off. In 2017 I was contacted by Printiki to try some prints, and I felt like that was the kick I needed. This isn’t sponsored or anything either, I just really love their prints. It’s amazing to be able to look back at memories that aren’t on a screen.

Congratulations for getting to the end! That turned out a lot longer than I thought, but it was hard to narrow down.

What were your 2017 favourites?

Thank you for reading!

I loved this favorites post! I like that you added things from your personal life, which is gonna be great to look back on. I just added that Redkin product to my Ulta wish list, so I’ll get it next time I make a purchase on there! I will probably do the same thing with the too faced setting spray, since I have extremely dry skin. Great post hannah xxx

The original Naked palette is soo gorgeous and my fave shade has got to be Half-Baked! I’m dying to try that 3-in-1 spray from Too Faced, as I’ve heard lots of people rave about it. I also need to continue my scrapbook(s) this year and actually finish at least one of them xo

What a great roundup of favorites! The Naked 1 is such a classic palette, and one I still reach for despite my growing collection – the shades just complement each other so well. I love the sound and look of the Too Faced setting spray, will need to give that a try when I finish my MAC Fix+!

Loved reading this favourites post! I was tossing up between the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and the TooFaced Hangover Primer but ended up going with the setting spray. If you think it’s something you might do in the future I would definitely be interested to read an in-depth review of the Hangover primer. I also worked with Printiki last year and I really loved the photos I got! They’re super cute and worked really well to add a bit of decor to my room.

I used to work at The Body Shop and I’d put that damn Coconut Milk on every day!!! I love it soo much and it’s such a beautiful summery smell. Their lightening drops are brilliant too, I also own their illuminating drops but I can’t say they’re even half as good unfortunately. So glad you’ve started to enjoy the beach too, it’s such a lovely and relaxing place once you get past the fact that no one really cares what you look like 🙂 I used to struggle too!

My holiday essentials☀️✈️ Don’t get me wrong, I h My holiday essentials☀️✈️

Don’t get me wrong, I had a full makeup bag just to the side, but these were always out😂

From the iconic @soldejaneiro 62, which always reminds me of holiday to my much loved @charlottetilbury palette 😍

Saying that the @maybelline foundation is new to me and I have been really enjoying it! It has SPF 20 and is great for dry skin✨

What always makes it into your holiday makeup bag?🩵🌺

Also I know the lighting isn’t the best, but we’re going with it😂

Missing mornings like this✨ Current mood: Sitting Missing mornings like this✨

Current mood: Sitting by a pool in Greece sipping a freddo cappuccino😍

Actual reality: Staring at my kettle in the UK wishing it could do magic tricks😭

Is it actually worth investing in a proper coffee machine? And more importantly, which one should I get?

I actually only like iced coffee, so I’m not sure if a machine is for me, but there’s got to be a way… right?😭😂

Real talk family dinner review!🤍 (Gifted/ invite) Real talk family dinner review!🤍
(Gifted/ invite)

We treated the kids to a meal out at weathervanemeirpark this weekend, and the family vibes were lovely. One of the biggest wins was that the staff brought over colouring pages and crayons for both kids without us even having to ask. Which is a lifesaver with two toddlers🥵

Noah and Ella were completely won over by the food. Noah cleared his plate of sausage, chips, and beans, and Ella was living her best life with pasta, corn on the cob, and chips (a toddler dream combo, let’s be real😂)

As for the adults, Jake loved The Big Melt burger. I ordered the Katsu Curry Feast, and we did have a little hiccup where my chicken looked a little pink, but I always judge a place by how they handle mistakes. The staff were absolutely brilliant, replaced it immediately, and even brought over a complimentary drink to apologise. Great customer service honestly makes all the difference.🫶🏻

It’s a super welcoming, stress free spot if you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids this weekend.

Swipe to the very end to see Ella making sure no ice cream got left behind😂

🩵 Father’s Day at @draytonmanor 🩵 Yesterday we he 🩵 Father’s Day at @draytonmanor 🩵

Yesterday we headed to Drayton Manor for the first time, and we absolutely loved it! 🚂

The highlights:

🎢 We managed to hit all the rides we wanted.

⏱️ Queue times were super manageable—the longest we waited was 30 minutes, which is the absolute limit with a 1 and 3-year-old! 😂

🥵 It was too hot to make it to the zoo this time, but with animal-loving toddlers, we will definitely be back to check it out. 🐯

Have you been to Drayton Manor before?

What’s your ultimate tip for taking toddlers to theme parks in the heat? 👇🏼
