Mid Year Check In: My Project Pan Progress Update (August 2022)

The Archive Check: Playing Catch-Up

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I originally wanted to share this mid-year update back in May, but life got in the way and I never quite got around to it.

It is finally time to sit down and see how my project pan progress is actually going! Because I haven’t worn a ton of makeup over the spring and summer, I’m a little disappointed by the lack of movement on a few of these, but slow progress is still progress.

Let’s look at the hits, the misses, and some major product swaps.

Note: Just like my last update, I’m only including photos for the items where you can actually see a physical difference in the pan (or lack thereof!).

Charlotte Tilbury | Flawless Filter

The Progress Report: I’ve been pretty harsh about this in my previous posts, but after experimenting with how I apply it, I do actually like it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t love it, but it’s nice. The £40 price tag stops me from truly loving it, as I just can’t justify that splurge on something I don’t consider a daily essential.

The Progress Report: It feels like this bronzer simply refuses to budge! I’ve gotten plenty of daily wear out of it, but the powder is still standing strong. I’m thinking of switching to a fluffier bronzer brush, as I’ve heard they distribute the product better than the dense brush I’m currently using.

The Progress Report: You won’t be surprised to hear that I still keep forgetting to throw this into my handbag when I head out the door. I’ve been getting a decent amount of use out of it at my vanity, but not nearly as much as I should be.

Fenty | Fu$$y

The Progress Report: There isn’t much to update you on for this one, as it’s hard to tell how much product is left. I keep it permanently in my bag and reach for it constantly, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it hits the empty pile very soon.

Urban Decay | Naked Palette

I mentioned swapping this out for something else, and the time has come. I’m going to swap this out for my Natasha Denona Glam palette. The goal is to hit pan on two shades.

ColourPop | Koosh Super Shock Shadow

The Progress Report: I really enjoy using this, and the product seems to be disappearing quite quickly. I’m not mad about it at all, and I honestly can’t wait to work my way right to the bottom of the pot.

Wet n Wild | Blossom Glow Highlighter

Here we have our second swap. I haven’t been wanting to reach for this either, as I feel like it doesn’t suit me anymore. Which means I’m swapping it for the highlighter from the Charlotte Tilbury Pretty Blushed Beauty palette. Instead of finishing it off, the goal is to hit pan.

Lanolips | 101 Ointment Multi Balm Peach

The Progress Report: I’m just not finding myself wanting to reach for this, even though the hydrating formula is lovely. Because the ointment is so thick, it becomes a bit too much of a faff to warm up. I know I can get it finished; I just need to strictly focus on it.

Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette

The Progress Report: Look at that! This is the product I’ve made the absolute most headway on, and the left hand side is starting to look incredibly well loved! Since my last update, I have successfully finished one entire shade and hit pan on another. That means since the start of the year, I’ve hit pan on two shades and completely cleared one.

Soap and Glory | Thick and Fast Mascara

The Progress Report: I swapped this in after completely finishing my Morphe setting spray, and I’m genuinely surprised it has lasted this long. I originally added it to the project just to finally clear it out of my stash since it’s been in my collection for a while. It’s a nice formula, but I always find myself pairing it with my trusty Maybelline Lash Sensational to get the lift I want.

The August Lineup Swaps

OUT: Urban Decay Naked Palette — I wasn’t reaching for it, so it’s time for a change.

IN: Natasha Denona Glam Palette — The brand-new goal is to hit pan on two shades!

OUT: Wet n Wild Blossom Glow Highlighter — I feel like this icy pink tone doesn’t suit my skin tone anymore.

IN: Charlotte Tilbury Pretty Blushed Beauty Palette (Highlighter Shade) — Instead of trying to finish an entire product, the new goal is simply to hit pan.

The Final Verdict

That wraps up my project pan progress for August. It’s time to put my head down, focus on that thick Lanolips tube, and start dipping into my newly swapped in Natasha Denona shades.
