What’s in my Travel Beauty Bag?

This post contains affiliate links.

First of all, if you’re expecting a curated selection of products then you have come to the wrong place. I am terrible for over packing, but in my humble opinion, I have gotten better over the years. If I was to make this post 10 years ago, you’d be seeing a lipstick in every shade and finish. I mean there’s still a way to go, but I managed to get everything into one bag this time, so I’m counting that as a win. Yes, the bag may be big, but it still counts. Also typing 10 years ago has me feeling a certain kind of way. Get the care home on standby.

I have done this kind of post before, and it’s fun to be able to look back and see what my makeup choices were at the time. There’s also no crossovers, so we’ve had a complete switch over in that time. Let’s just look over the fact that it was four years ago…

This is what’s in my travel beauty bag?

The Bag

We need to take a moment for the bag. It might not look like much, but I am very happy with this purchase. I bought it from Boots a few days before we left and I am so happy that I did. I haven’t had a new makeup bag in years. My old one was a sorry state, so I picked this one up on a whim. It costs £6, and I managed to fit everything from this post in, and my brushes. Oh, and a Garnier Micellar Water.

Base Products

First of all for my base, I took the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter. If you can’t glow on holiday, when can you? Okay, I’m not proud of this part, but I had no idea what foundation would match me…. so I packed three. I took the: Revlon Colorstay, L’Oreal True Match and Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin. I ended up mixing the ones from L’Oreal and Charlotte Tilbury, and this gave medium coverage that left my skin looking brighter and not at all dry.

For concealer I took Maybelline Fit Me, mainly because it’s the only concealer I own, and I love using it for brightening the under eyes. To set everything I took the No7 Flawless Finishing Powder, and had no problems with it. It is new to me, so I don’t want to comment on it too much.

Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter

At this point it is no surprise that I took the Charlotte Tilbury Pretty Blushed Beauty face palette. The blush in this palette is my absolute favourite, it’s a peachy pink and it’s my everyday shade. I also use the contour from this palette, and then warmed up my face with Benefit Hoola, which is a classic.

I am now realising that I could’ve saved space and used the highlighter from the Charlotte Tilbury palette, but of course I had to take another one. I took Amrezy from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I included this in last years project pan, and I am still determined to pan it. I have actually hit pan now, but it is so tiny, so I’m still going.

Eyes and Brows

For brows I took the 17 Precise Definition Tinted Brow Gel. I picked this up on a whim the week before I left and really enjoyed it. I don’t do much to my brows, I just like a little tint and this delivers. I took my Natasha Denona Glam Palette, but didn’t end up using it. I never wore eyeshadow, but the mirror was handy for getting ready, so it wasn’t a total loss.

I took two mascaras, as I picked up the elf Big Mood Mascara before leaving, but when I took it out of the packaging I realised I accidentally picked up the brown version. I’ve never used a brown mascara before, so I was a little disappointed and wanted to take a black back up. Which ended up being the Rimmel Thrill Seeker, which has been in my collection a while. They worked really nicely together, but the elf mascara didn’t blow me away. I do however need to test it more before going all in.

Setting Spray and Lips

I took the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless, and I love how it sets my face and has hydrating qualities.

For lips I took the elf Glow Reviver lip oil in the shade Coral Fixation. This is another one I picked up the week before, and I really enjoyed using it. It adds a subtle wash of colour, and isn’t sticky at all, but I found myself needing to reapply often. I also took the Charlotte Tilbury Dancefloor Princess lipstick, but didn’t end up using it.

There we have it that was; what’s in my Travel Beauty Bag?

I don’t think my packing was too crazy and practically everything got used. Are you good at packing for trips?

Thank you for reading!

These are some of the major essentials when we travel. I try to minimize but end up packing more than I need. Your bag has the right number of options and looks like easy to carry. 🙂

It is great to see what makeup you bring in your travel bag! I keep my travel makeup bag fairly simple and I only bring a primer, concealer, foundation, blush, setting powder, setting spray, and a lip product or 2.

Real talk family dinner review!🤍 (Gifted/ invite) Real talk family dinner review!🤍
(Gifted/ invite)

We treated the kids to a meal out at weathervanemeirpark this weekend, and the family vibes were lovely. One of the biggest wins was that the staff brought over colouring pages and crayons for both kids without us even having to ask. Which is a lifesaver with two toddlers🥵

Noah and Ella were completely won over by the food. Noah cleared his plate of sausage, chips, and beans, and Ella was living her best life with pasta, corn on the cob, and chips (a toddler dream combo, let’s be real😂)

As for the adults, Jake loved The Big Melt burger. I ordered the Katsu Curry Feast, and we did have a little hiccup where my chicken looked a little pink, but I always judge a place by how they handle mistakes. The staff were absolutely brilliant, replaced it immediately, and even brought over a complimentary drink to apologise. Great customer service honestly makes all the difference.🫶🏻

It’s a super welcoming, stress free spot if you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids this weekend.

Swipe to the very end to see Ella making sure no ice cream got left behind😂

What’s your ultimate go to meal when you eat out with the family?🍽️
