The Flashback Update
If you think project panning is a smooth, satisfying journey of emptying products, this archive update from March 2022 is here to completely shatter that illusion. This was my very first check-in after launching my Project 10 Pan challenge, and it quickly turned into a series of unexpected plot twists.
Looking back, this post stands out because it features some major beauty realisations, including an unpopular opinion about a cult-favourite product and the heartbreaking moment a favourite shadow met its demise.
My Original 2022 March Progress Report
It feels like I wrote my initial project 10 pan introduction yesterday, so I have absolutely no idea how it’s already time for an update. I was a little unsure on how to go about structuring these check ins, but I’ve decided on a brief review of how I’m getting on with each item, followed by our official product swaps at the end.
Note: For these updates, I am only including pictures of the specific products where you can actually see visible progress. Here is how my collection is looking after the first two months:
Charlotte Tilbury | Flawless Filter
The Progress Report: Unpopular opinion alert, I don’t really like this. I honestly feel like the only person on the internet who doesn’t, as I’ve only ever seen glowing reviews. It just doesn’t feel like a necessity in my routine. It’s nice, but it’s definitely not life changing.
I also find that sometimes I end up looking like a bit of a disco ball, which isn’t ideal. I’m not sure if the version I have is a bit too light for me, but I won’t miss this when it’s gone. Luckily, it seems very close to being finished!
Benefit | Hoola Bronzer

Original on the left, updated version on the right.
The Progress Report: I was really looking forward to seeing the physical progress on this bronzer, but looking at the side-by-side photos, it looks exactly the same. I’m kind of sad because I’ve used it a lot, just for it to look completely untouched! Never mind though, I’m still enjoying using it, and I guess that’s all that really matters.
Charlotte Tilbury | Dancefloor Princess
Discontinued

Original on the left, update on the right.
The Progress Report: I feel like the progress on this has been very slow, but that’s entirely because I keep forgetting to take it out with me when I leave the house. I’m sure if I actually kept this in my everyday bag, I’d be getting through it a little bit quicker. On the plus side, I’m still really enjoying using it and I find that the soft pink shade goes with absolutely every makeup look.
Fenty | Fu$$y Gloss Bomb
The Progress Report: I’m not quite sure how to give a precise update on this one, as I have no idea how much product is actually left inside the tube. I’m using it a lot because I keep it stashed in my bag, and I’ve even been using it as a daytime lip balm. I still love it, and it’s definitely my favourite lip gloss formula. Part of me will be sad when it’s gone, but I have a lot of other glosses ready and waiting in my drawers.
Morphe | Continuous Setting Mist
The Progress Report: WE DID IT! We have our very first official empty! To be honest, this isn’t that exciting as it was something I knew I’d finish quickly. I use a lot of setting spray as it is, and I barely had anything left in this can to start with. Still, an empty is an empty, which means a new product needs to be rolled into the challenge.
Empty Status: Our first empty!
Urban Decay | Naked Palette
Discontinued
The Progress Report: You might need to sit down for this one… I used this palette back in January, and I did not like it. At this point, we must be living in a parallel universe because I used to consider this my all time favourite palette! I’m hoping it was just a one-off bad makeup day, but after that experience, I haven’t rushed back to use it. Mainly because it’s quite an old palette now, so it might just be time to declutter it.
ColourPop | Peekaboo Super Shock Shadow

Peekaboo is on the left and Koosh is on the right.
The Progress Report: Sadly, this shadow has completely dried up. I know, I’m so sad too. I know there are ways to revive dry cream shadows with oil, so I’m going to try that trick before giving up on it completely. However, in the short term, I’m going to swap this out for the shade Koosh, as I do not want that one to dry up in the meantime while sitting ignored.
Wet n Wild | Blossom Glow
The Progress Report: As you may be able to tell, I have absolutely loved this highlighter in the past, but I have to say that I have not been enjoying it lately. In fact, I haven’t been reaching for it at all. It may be because my preferences have been shifting toward more of a subtle, natural glow, and this formula can look quite intense. I’m going to give it one more fair go, but I may switch it out if I don’t fall back in love with it.
Lanolips | 101 Ointment Multi Balm Peach
The Progress Report: First of all, can we just talk about the word ointment? I absolutely hate it!
I’ve been enjoying using the actual product, but I do find the packaging a bit of a faff. I’m completely blaming the Fenty lip balm for this, as its doe foot applicator makes it extremely quick and easy to apply. Whereas this tube needs to be warmed up in your hands before it’s applied, as the balm is very thick when it first comes out. It’s definitely not a major flaw, it’s more of a “me being lazy” issue. I’m sure I can get it finished!
Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette
Discontinued

Original on the left, and update on the right.
The Progress Report: I am still thoroughly enjoying using this palette and I have actually made a lot of progress on it! My original goal was to finish two shades and hit pan on one other.
The shade Peaches & Cream is now showing a little bit of silver pan around the side. And the dip in Luscious is getting a little bit bigger. Luscious is definitely a long way off from being done, but I’m making quick progress with Peaches & Cream. Best of all, I’ve officially hit pan on Georgia, so that is one mini-goal officially ticked off the list!
Empty Status: One goal out of three achieved!
The Official Product Swaps:
OUT: Morphe Continuous Setting Mist – Our first empty
IN: Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara – The goal is to use it up.
OUT: ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Peekaboo – Swapping out, as it’s dried up.
IN: ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Koosh – The goal is to use it up.
The Final Verdict
I’m shocked with how many of these products don’t seem to work for me anymore. I’ve loved that Urban Decay palette for a LONG time, but as I said it could be because it’s old now. I’m also so happy that I’m making good progress, with one empty and a pan on the Sweet Peach palette. Hopefully the next update has more exciting progress!

What word do you absolutely hate in the beauty world (is it ointment, too?) and have you ever had a favorite eyeshadow dry up on you?

I always wanted to try the Sweet Peach palette, the shades look so beautiful! I love the variety of shades and how they complement each other 😀 it feels so satisfying hitting pan on products you have been working on! I absolutely love these kind of posts 😀 xx

Love to see the progress, especially on the Too Faced palette! Go you girl!
You’re flying it! I’m not doing a project pan as such, but have some products on rotation that are almost finished and I have new products that I want to try, so I’m focusing on using these particular products and they’ll be in my Insta-empties! Makeup is so much more difficult than skincare or bodycare – I fly through those products! x

I keep hearing good things about the Fenty glosses, I need to try one! xx

Eyeshadows, blushers etc. are so hard to use up! It feels like they’re neverending haha. But you’ve been making good progress on your 10 pan. Such a shame you don’t enjoy the CT Flawless Filter!

My project pan has gone really well for some products, and not so well for other products I just didn’t use that much. I’m trying to be more consistent in using some products I wasn’t reaching for. It was also nice to have photographic proof to see how much progress I’ve made with some products. I’m glad to see you made so much progress with your eyeshadow palette! I feel like it’s so much harder to go through powder products! Great post Han xxx

Project 10 Pan is such a great idea! I loved seeing the progress and reviews for these products, especially for the Flawless Filter. I feel you on the bronzer! I use so much and it always looks untouched haha. Thank you for sharing!
I didn’t know it was called this, but I started doing this a while ago in an attempt to use up some products and my spending on makeup has definitely decreased, which is great!
