Yes, you’ve read that right. I’m a book blogger now. Well, not exactly. I’m not about to jump into reviews, as to be honest with you I haven’t sat down and read a book for years. It’s embarrassing how long it’s been. As I want to get into reading again, I thought I would treat myself to some new books and share what I picked up with you.
This is A Little Book Haul.
One Of Us is Lying Karen McManus
I have seen this book all over Instagram and I loved the sound of it. I’m surprised I’ve only discovered it, as it came out back in 2017, but the sequel was published this year. What really drew me to this story is that it’s a: ‘Who Dunnit?’ and those are my favourite. I have already started reading this and I’m struggling to put it down; it’s brilliant.

I read a review on this a few weeks ago, and I can’t for the live of me remember who it was from. Which I can only apologise for, as it was that review that made me want to pick this book up. This book is a Rom-Com, and I know it has received rave reviews, so I decided to pick it up and give it a go.
“Their friends think they’re crazy, but it’s the perfect solution: Leon occupies the one-bed flat whilst Tiffy’s at work in the day, and she has the run of the place the rest of the time. But with obsessive ex-boyfriends, wrongly imprisoned brothers and, of course, the fact that they still haven’t met yet, it seems this flatshare is more complicated than expected…”
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Back in the day I loved: ‘The Hunger Games’, books and films, so of course I had to pick this up. This story is a prequel to the trilogy and revolves around a young President Snow. Which I will admit I was a little bit confused by, as I was not expecting it to go with that character, but I’m still looking forward to reading it. I got through Mockingjay in two days, so I’m hoping this one is as good.

The ballad of Songbirds and snakes was a little confusing but not too bad to read and some of the backstory was really great personally.

Ah yes I read all the Hunger Games books. The films not so much. It was like watching a video game. There is just way too much going on in the Hunger Games for a couple of 2 hour movies. I think it would have been much better as a series where there would be more time to flesh out the multi layered plots.

I’m really interested to read Flatshare! I’ve heard a lot of people talk about it recently on Booktube and Bookstagram. It’s not usually the type if genre I would read but I’m really intrigued by it so I’m hoping to read it soon!

I love one of us is lying! It was such a good read. While I felt like I looked forward to certain perspectives over others, that’s to be expected when you like certain characters better. I haven’t read the other two, but I have them on my TBR list! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts as you read them. Good post han xxx
