Yes, you’ve read that right. I’m a book blogger now. Well, not exactly. I’m not about to jump into reviews, as to be honest with you I haven’t sat down and read a book for years. It’s embarrassing how long it’s been. As I want to get into reading again, I thought I would treat myself to some new books and share what I picked up with you.
This is A Little Book Haul.
One Of Us is Lying Karen McManus
I first saw this book on Charlotte’s blog, and I’ve seen numerous people talk about it since. I’m surprised I’ve only discovered it, as it came out back in 2017, but the sequel was published this year. What really drew me to this story is that it’s a: ‘Who Dunnit?’ and those are my favourite. I have already started reading this and I’m struggling to put it down; it’s brilliant.
“Five students walk into detention. Only four leave alive.
Yale hopeful Bronwyn has never publicly broken a rule.
Sports star Cooper only knows what he’s doing in the baseball diamond.
Bad boy Nate is one misstep away from a life of crime.
Prom queen Addy is holding together the cracks in her perfect life.
And outsider Simon, creator of the notorious gossip at Bayview High, won’t ever talk about any of them again.
He dies 24 hours before he could post their deepest secrets online. Investigators conclude it’s no accident.
All of them are suspects.
Everyone has secrets, right?
What really matters is how far you’ll go to protect them”.
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
I read a review on this a few weeks ago, and I can’t for the live of me remember who it was from. Which I can only apologise for, as it was that review that made me want to pick this book up. This book is a Rom-Com, and I know it has received rave reviews, so I decided to pick it up and give it a go.
“Their friends think they’re crazy, but it’s the perfect solution: Leon occupies the one-bed flat whilst Tiffy’s at work in the day, and she has the run of the place the rest of the time. But with obsessive ex-boyfriends, wrongly imprisoned brothers and, of course, the fact that they still haven’t met yet, it seems this flatshare is more complicated than expected…”
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Back in the day I loved: ‘The Hunger Games’, books and films, so of course I had to pick this up. This story is a prequel to the trilogy and revolves around a young President Snow. Which I will admit I was a little bit confused by, as I was not expecting it to go with that character, but I’m still looking forward to reading it. I got through Mockingjay in two days, so I’m hoping this one is as good.
“Ambition will fuel him.
Competition will drive him.
But power has its price”.
There we have it! That was a A Little Book Haul.
