Lush Graveyard Status: Discontinued
This post is a nostalgic archive review of the Lush Beautiful Shower Gel. Which has sadly been discontinued since I first wrote this! If you’re after some fresh content, check out my post about ways to reduce screen time.
As soon as I first bought this product, I knew I had to write about it. At the time, I never saw anyone in the beauty community talking about it, which was such a massive shame. It quickly became one of my all-time favourite Lush scents, which is a pretty big claim, considering just how many fragrances they have to choose from.
Looking back, my fears were justified, and Beautiful was eventually sent to the great Lush graveyard in the sky. But for those who remember it (or those hunting for a dupe!), here is my original review and breakdown of this legendary shimmering gel.
The Scent & Lasting Power
It is absolutely impossible to talk about this product without mentioning the scent, as it was hands-down the best thing about it. The formula featured a beautiful blend of apricot infusion and fresh peach juice.
It was incredibly sweet and juicy. I’m not normally a huge fan of sharp citrus scents, but these two fruits worked so perfectly together to create something warm and uplifting. The only real downside to this gel was its lasting power; the fragrance didn’t linger very long on the skin after stepping out of the shower, which was a shame considering how stunning it smelled in the bottle.
The Vibrant Colour & Glitter Factor
Visually, Beautiful truly was a ray of sunshine in a bottle. It was a rich, glowing yellow-orange packed with a mountain of fine golden shimmer running through it.

Luckily, the glitter didn’t stubbornly stick to your body afterward, which was a relief given how much of it was packed into the formula. It lathered up beautifully, and a little bit went a very long way, meaning a medium-sized bottle was bound to last for ages. (Even though I must admit, I was guilty of squeezing out way too much just to get a stronger hit of that peach aroma!)
Overall Verdict
This truly was an amazing shower gel. If I could have changed anything about the original formula, it would have been the staying power. It is such a shame to have something that smells that incredible fade away so quickly. Everything else about it was absolutely spot on.
It was so nice to have something so fresh, fruity, and joyful in my shower collection.
