Can you believe that this is my third empties post of the year, and that it’s already Empties #7? Because I certainly can’t. I only ever used to do empties posts once a year, as it took me a long time to get through a product. Now that I’m on a low-buy, I’m not buying makeup as often, so it gives me a chance to use stuff up.
This is Empties #7.
Maybelline | Dream Urban Cover Foundation
I loved using this foundation. It comes in a tube which allows you to squeeze the product out, so you don’t end up wasting anything and the application is much cleaner as you can put it straight onto your face. The formula is very thin and it feels very lightweight which means it doesn’t look cakey at all. It lasts all day and suits my dry skin perfectly. Overall I really love this foundation, but I want to try others before returning to this one.
Repurchase?: I wouldn’t rush, but yes I would repurchase.
ColourPop | BFF Mascara
Does anyone else hate makeup with packaging that rubs off? When I first used this mascara I really liked it, but as it dried up it wasn’t as good. Now I’ve finally fished it and I’m not mad about it. It’s a nice product, but I prefer the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and I can’t say that I would repurchase this one. The wand is similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex, as it has the same fluffy bristles and hourglass shape.
Repurchase?: No, I prefer others.
Essie | Fifth Avenue
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this on my blog before, which is strange as I adore this colour. There is never a time when this is not on my toes and I’m a bit gutted that I can’t get anymore out of it. Fifth Avenue is an orange- red with a creamy formula. The main thing I love about this is that I can get away with doing one coat and it’s opaque with great colour payoff.
Repurchase?: 100% yes.
The Body Shop | Hand Cream
These two are from the Christmas release, and I loved both of them. I’ve got through them rather quickly, as my hands have really suffered in the cold and the constant sanitising due to the pandemic. These creams aren’t greasy and dry quickly which makes these great to take out with you. I love having these to pop in my bag and take on the go.
The Body Shop | Cactus Blossom Body Yogurt
I wasn’t sure whether or not to include this, as it was from The Mother’s Day release last year and doesn’t seem like it’s going to be brought back anytime soon. The Body Yogurts are my favourite moisturisers and this one is no different. It dries quickly and is lightweight, and best of all it isn’t sticky at all. I wouldn’t repurchase this scent if they brought it back, but I love the Almond Milk scent.
Repurchase?: Not this scent, but I love the formula.
Lush | Cookie Dough Body Scrub
This is one of the weirdest scrubs I have ever tried. The texture is thick, but thins out the more you work it in; just be sure your skin isn’t dry. I do like how this scrub isn’t too harsh, as it’s actually quite mild which makes a nice middle ground. It also doesn’t leave my skin looking dry and irritated which is another huge bonus. The only thing I dislike about this is the scent. It’s very strong and it’s pretty much all you can smell when you’re using it which means it becomes too overpowering and a little unpleasant. For me it doesn’t smell sweet enough to be cookie dough, as the almond is a little too strong.
Repurchase?: Probably not this scent, but I’d try other Lush scrubs.
There we have it! That was Empties #7.
Have you used anything up lately?
