Exactly one year ago today, I hit publish on my first post on this site. It might of only been an introduction to let you know what you can expect from Luxuryblush, but a range of posts followed. Most of them hauls… Since then I have a little bit more of a variety, but favourites posts are forever.
As I have been posting for a year, I thought I would share a few things that I have learnt along the way. I’m also going to set myself some goals that I can reflect on this time next year.
This is a Year of Blogging: What I’ve Learnt.
Persistence is Everything
I think that it is important to keep the reader’s attention by tweeting, using Instagram daily, but also use these to stay in touch readers by asking questions and asking for feedback, both can be really helpful when trying to improve.
Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day
Starting anything from scratch is difficult, and blogging is no exception. You have to put yourself out there and work to get readers. You could be posting the most incredible things, but no one is going to see them if you don’t shout about them.
Keep Writing
I like to have three posts scheduled in advance at all times, as this helps me to stay consistent. This means I’m always writing down ideas, planning, or writing the post. I’ve learnt that this helps me to remember my ideas, and keeps me on track.
Be Genuine
The beauty of blogging is that anybody can do it, and there are thousands of people already doing it. That means there are a lot of other blogs out there that are bound to be similar. The one way to stand out is to be yourself, as our personalities are what make us unique.
Join the Community
There is a huge blogging community on Twitter and Instagram and it is important to join in. It’s a great way to meet like minded people, and get your stuff out there. If you’re expecting comments on your blog, it’s nice to do the same for other people.
Let’s get into the things I want to work on in the next year.
Talk to People
I’ve already mentioned that joining the community is a huge benefit, and it’s something I want to work on more. I haven’t joined a lot of Twitter chats and that is definitely something I want to start doing, as it seems like a great way to get to know other bloggers.
Get Organised
This is something I’ve always struggled with. There is always something to do when it comes to blogging, so keeping on top of everything can be difficult. I know I want to post twice a week, and now I need to actually do it. Luckily I have learnt some tips to help me with organisation.
STOP PROCRASTINATING
I know that this is something I need to work on, and hopefully this is the year I make progress.
That was A Year of Blogging: What I’ve Learnt.
