How I Fell Back in Love with Blogging

Am I still milking my blogging break for content? Yes, yes I am. I stopped blogging consistently a while ago now, and with a number of failed attempts to get back into it, I think I’ve finally got it. I started posting again in July, and I’ve been loving keeping up with everything again. I’ve seen a lot of talk about people falling out of love with blogging, so I thought I’d share what helped me. I’m not saying this is a miracle cure, but it’s whats done it for me.

This is How I Fell Back in Love with Blogging.

Posting What I Want

I somehow found myself in a mindset that: ‘I am a beauty blog’. Which meant I felt iffy about posting other type of content. To be fair, It was mainly with Instagram, but it soon transferred to the blog too. Which didn’t do me any favours, and I’d constantly stress myself out about what to post. Now I post whatever I want, which it should’ve been from the beginning.

A New Theme

As much as I loved the theme I went with after the whole Pipdig fiasco it was too much work. Everything had to be put in manually, and I just didn’t have time to keep updating everything all of the time. Instead I’ve found a simple theme that suits me just fine. I’ve had no major issues, touch wood. Finding a theme that I liked was surprisingly motivating to get creating again.

No More Pressure

This is linked to the first one, as I always put so much pressure on myself to create a certain type of content. I’m terrible for putting too much pressure on myself, and it’s something I’m still trying to get better at. I know that if I don’t post on a certain day the only person who is going to be annoyed is me, and there’s no reason to be annoyed about it.

Reading Other Blogs

This isn’t me saying go ahead and copy everything you see, but reading other blogs can be motivating. For me it was like seeing others doing it really motivated me to get my act together, as I remembered how much I enjoyed it. I’ve also jumped on some popular posts that have been going around, like sharing my Blogging Routine and Favourites posts.

That’s it! That is how I fell back in love with blogging.

How do you stay motivated with blogging?

Thank you for reading.

Yes blogging can be challenging and it is indeed a lot of work. Your tips are spot on! I too have a Pipdig theme and have not the time to switch to a new one. So far so good, fingers crossed but that was truly nuts. The two things that really put me off blogging are 1) How IG has taken over and dominated everything, not a fan of this. 2) To be honest the behavior of other bloggers at times. When they forgo blogging to only do IG and when they pay it forward to themselves by only commenting back on IG comments and only commenting back to comments on their own blogs as opposed to returning to and reading the commenters blog. This alone is killing blogging…

I’ve had some serious dry spells on my blog, but now feel the most positive and motivated I’ve been since I started. I re-evaluated why I was blogging in the first place and like you said removed the pressure from myself. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I think a new theme or even altering an existing theme can make you feel really excited to get back into blogging again as it feels fresh and new. Ah, your point about posting what you want really resonated with me. I often feel torn on whether I should just post whatever the hell I want or whether I should post what I want, but ensure I stick to a certain niche and not post random things. It’s hard because I hear conflicting advice about this and it seems like bloggers can be successful posting about whatever they want and just sticking to a niche. But, it’s great to hear you’ve got blogging into again – you have a lovely site!

Yay I’m so glad you’re enjoying blogging again! I’ve started posting more of what I want now too rather than just sticking to what I’ve done in the past, or what I think people want to see, and I’m enjoying it so much more too. That goes for instagram aswell, I’ve made it more of a personal/blogging insta rather than strictly blogging and I get so much more enjoyment out of it xx

I know what you mean about feeling like you have to post about certain topics, sometimes I sit down and just stare at a blank page uninspired. I also have stopped doing this and just write about what I want to because if I don’t want to write it, how can I expect anyone to want to read it. It’s just more authentic to me and has made me enjoy blogging a lot more xx

Great post! I went through the exact same thing – didn’t post on my blog for actual years due to time, feeling uninspired and felt like no one really bothered reading blogs anymore. I only recently started posting again this year after realising I don’t need to put any pressure on myself to stick to a schedule or one particular theme and just blog about what I want and enjoy!

Real talk family dinner review!🤍 (Gifted/ invite) Real talk family dinner review!🤍
(Gifted/ invite)

We treated the kids to a meal out at weathervanemeirpark this weekend, and the family vibes were lovely. One of the biggest wins was that the staff brought over colouring pages and crayons for both kids without us even having to ask. Which is a lifesaver with two toddlers🥵

Noah and Ella were completely won over by the food. Noah cleared his plate of sausage, chips, and beans, and Ella was living her best life with pasta, corn on the cob, and chips (a toddler dream combo, let’s be real😂)

As for the adults, Jake loved The Big Melt burger. I ordered the Katsu Curry Feast, and we did have a little hiccup where my chicken looked a little pink, but I always judge a place by how they handle mistakes. The staff were absolutely brilliant, replaced it immediately, and even brought over a complimentary drink to apologise. Great customer service honestly makes all the difference.🫶🏻

It’s a super welcoming, stress free spot if you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids this weekend.

Swipe to the very end to see Ella making sure no ice cream got left behind😂

What’s your ultimate go to meal when you eat out with the family?🍽️
