These lip stains have been in my collection for a while now, but I’ve recently rediscovered them and fallen in love all over again. I love a lip crayon, and the word balm really drew me in. As I love a product that can add a wash of colour, whilst also being hydrating.
This is my Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain Review.
Is it a Dupe?:
People compare these to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, but as I haven’t tried them I won’t be able to compare. Saying that I do enjoy the price difference, as these are a lot more affordable than the Chubby Sticks.
The Formula:
They don’t quite feel like a lip balm, but they do apply easily. On the lips they’re extremely comfortable and leave a glossy finish that lasts a few hours. As they are a comfortable formula, they do need reapplying throughout the day. Even though they start off comfortable, I find them becoming dryer as the day goes on.
The Pigment:
I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting these to be as pigmented as they are. Don’t get me wrong they aren’t at the same level as a bullet lipstick, but it’s great for a lip crayon. They do also leave a slight stain behind.
Are They Scented?:
These are scented, and I have to say that I hate it. It has a strong mint scent, and mint just happens to be my least favourite scent. It does put me off using it, as it is very strong, which is a shame. If you like a minty scent then you will love it.
The Packaging:
I love how the packaging makes it so simple to see what colour you’re picking. As the whole tube is the same colour as the product, and there is a coloured sticker on the bottom with the name of the shade. Which means you know what colour you’re picking, no matter how you store them. The silver section on the bottom twists to reveal more product, so there is no need for a sharpener. They’re very cute and perfect for Instagram.
The Shades:
Honey: A true nude, definitely a My Lips but Better shade.
Rendezvous: A bright coral, that applies orange.
Sweetheart: A bright fuchsia pink.
Cherish: A cool toned baby pink.
Top to Bottom: Honey, Rendezvous, Sweetheart and Cherish.
