The Archive Check: A Pink & Purple Halloween!
This wasn’t my biggest Lush haul, but I wanted to sit down and go through the bits I picked up for October 2017.
Fun fact about me: I really don’t enjoy orange bath water. Because of that, my options are always a bit limited during autumn launches. As I refuse to pick up things just for the sake of having them. It was also extremely tempting to grab a few sneaky pieces from the Christmas range while in store. But I’m trying to wait until we get a little closer to December.
Let’s revisit these classic treats from the Lush Halloween collection!
Lord of Misrule | Bath Bomb
The 2017 Haul Verdict: This was one of my absolute favourites from last year’s launch, so of course I had to stock up on another one this year. When I first read the scent description on the Lush website, I didn’t think it would be my cup of tea. But it smells incredible. It’s a deeply musky, herbal blend of earthy patchouli oil, spicy black pepper oil, and sweet vanilla absolute. It is the absolute definition of a cosy autumn fragrance. It slowly dissolves to leave the water a breathtaking, deep wine-claret colour.
Monsters Ball | Bath Bomb
The 2017 Haul Verdict: Another firm favourite from last year that used to be nearly impossible to get your hands on. It was constantly sold out online, and my local Lush store never seemed to have it in stock either. Luckily, the hype seems to have settled down a bit this year. It smells incredibly fresh and uplifting, containing: bright lime oil, neroli oil, frankincense (olibanum) oil, and coarse Himalayan rock salt. It’s a lovely, zesty palate cleanser from the heavy musk of Lord of Misrule, and it turns the tub a gorgeous, sparkly deep purple.
Pink Pumpkin | Bubble Bar
The 2017 Haul Verdict: As someone who isn’t a fan of pumpkin orange water but is completely obsessed with anything covered in glitter, this was a fabulous addition to the Lush Halloween collection. It’s essentially a pink, floral reimagining of Lush’s classic Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar. This version is packed with geranium oil, bergamot oil, and jasmine absolute, making it very floral, powdery, and feminine. I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of the scent profile, but the bright pink water and heavy silver shimmer make up for it.
Bunny Moon | Jelly Face Mask
Discontinued
The 2017 Haul Verdict: While this isn’t strictly part of the Halloween collection, Lush’s Jelly Face Masks are still brand new to the shelves, so they are definitely worth a mention. I’ve heard amazing things about this range. This specific mask is designed to deeply soothe dry skin, so it’s perfect for the incoming cold weather. It contains a calming infusion of chamomile and marigold petals, mixed with honey and rose oil.
The Final Verdict
Revisiting this Lush Halloween collection haul makes me so nostalgic for the days of jelly face masks and the original multi-coloured Lord of Misrule bath bomb design. Curating your bath products to fit your preferred aesthetic (and avoiding the dreaded neon orange water) is definitely the best way to shop a seasonal launch.

I recently went to a Lush event and I saw a couple of these, I can’t remember seeing the green one but I would definitely have wanted to get it. I saw the monsters ball and I forget to get it:( I got the pumpkin but the orange one! the pink ones are too cute though!

I went to the Lush Halloween launch at my local store last week and I thought the collection looked a lot smaller this year. My favourites this year are Bewitched (crazy cat lady right here) and Goth Fairy (I love the pearlescent colour.) The Sparkly Pumpkin was one of my faves last year, I have to admit I’m not as keen on the pink one as not sure on it’s Halloween relevance.

I hope you had a good time at the launch! It definitely isn’t the largest collection, but it looks like they’ve gone wild on the Christmas stuff. Bewitched looks so cute, I’m just not sure of the colour! I still have last years Goth Fairy, so I didn’t get another, but it’s really gorgeous! The pink one doesn’t seem Halloween related at all, but I love a pink bath, so can’t complain xx
I haven’t tried anything yet but I sooo want to try that cute little monster and the sparkly pink pumpkin!! Lord of Misrule sounds like it would smell divine, I absolutely love citrus smells. I struggle to justify Lush’s prices anymore as I’ve found cheaper alternatives though but I might have to treat myself to at least one thing!

Monsters Ball is a great one, and the sparkly pumpkins are fab too! Lush definitely have steeper prices, but the seasonal ranges are good xx

I haven’t bought anything from LUSH in ages! Their Halloween stuff always gets me so excited though. The Jelly Mask sounds so fun! The pink pumpkin is so cute too.

They have some really great bits! I don’t know, I’m just not too fond of the colour, it feels really weird to me almost like you’re sat in something like Fanta haha xx
Believe it or not, I have only ever tried anything from Lush once, and it was a gift! I never think to treat myself to lovely little things for the bath, but the bath bombs look so cute! I think my favourite that I have seen from their Halloween collection, has to be the little cat bath bomb haha!

The Bunny Moon mask sounds very interesting, I would consider buying it. Glad it lasts longer than their other face masks! The packaging is very cute as well.

I did a LUSH haul earlier today and can’t wait for it all to arrive because I haven’t done a proper haul in ages (probably last year!). Like you, I’m not that keen on orange baths because I think it can sometimes look like you’re having a bath in wee lol so I decided to pick up more from the Christmas range and I just got the Bewitched cat bubble bar from the Halloween range. Really like the look of the Sparkly Pumpkin, wish I had bought it now! x

I haven’t bought any of the lush halloween products yet this year. I love the look of the pink pumpkin bubble bar. I’m definitely going to go and pick one of them up. I hope its as good as the sparkly pumpkin bubble bar!
The seasonal collections are always really great, but the Christmas one definitely does a lot better than the Halloween one! I hope you love the pink one, and hopefully it is xx

Ooh this is such a good Lush haul! I got the regular glittery pumpkin but I was very tempted to get the pink one – I think I still might, but I don’t feel as bad seeing as though you didn’t like it. I saw afterwards that Sleepy is back in stock so I think I may need to go back and snag that one up!
