Bourjois Makeup Haul

Bourjois and Influenster are getting us ready for the party season, with the ultimate box of goodies. This box is based on Holiday Looks with Bourjois, and it contains classic products with some newbies thrown in for good measure. Bourjois is one of my favourite brands, as the Healthy Mix serum was my go to, a few years back.

Let’s get into the Bourjois makeup haul.

Healthy Mix Foundation | 51 Light Vanilla

We are starting off strong with the Healthy Mix foundation. I haven’t had this in my collection for a long time, but it holds a special place in my heart. It has a medium coverage, that can be built up without looking cakey. I love how natural it looks on the skin and it has such a lovely scent. It reminds me of a suncream I used when I was young. I have dry skin and this suits my skin perfectly, so if you also have dry skin then this may be a foundation for you.

Healthy Mix Concealer | 51 Light

I use concealer under my eyes to brighten the area and to cover any dark circles. This one does the job perfectly. It’s a light coverage, but I love the natural finish. It’s perfect for light makeup days, but if you’re after something with a lot coverage, then I would recommend looking elsewhere. I always set concealer with powder, and I’ve not had an issue with creasing. It’s also worth noting that this has the same fruity scent as the foundation.

Blush | 34 Rose D’or

Bourjois is well known for their blush pots, and I have heard that they are great dupes for Chanel. However, I do not wear blush. I know, I just don’t like how it looks on me. I am kind of gutted, as this shade looks so dreamy. It is the most perfect bright baby pink, that I can imagine a lot of people enjoying. It’s also a baked blush, so it has a beautiful golden shimmer running throughout it.

The packaging feels good quality, and there is a mirror in the lid, which is always handy. You also get a little brush, but I don’t think anyone actually uses them. It’s also worth noting that this blush has a floral scent, which I will admit that I’m not too keen on.

Smoky Stories | 15 Brilliant Prunette

Who doesn’t love a good quad? This is such a great size, and the packaging feels sturdy. I will admit that these aren’t my usual go to shades, but I think they’re perfect for this time of year. This palette has three satin shades and one glitter pigment, which is a little bit of a shame. As I feel like a look isn’t completed without a matte, but that could just be a me thing. The glitter pigment is also an interesting choice, as it takes a little bit of work to get right. I have built it up on my swatch, but to do this on the eyes you need a glitter primer. It has a lot of fallout, but it is a really pretty colour.

Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara 

I will admit that I’m not a big fan of this. I’m a bit lazy when it comes to mascara. I only have the patience to go over it a few times and then I’m done. This one is a little too natural for my liking. I want something that provides length and volume and this just isn’t that. However it doesn’t crumble and it doesn’t transfer which are two huge positives.

Metallic Lip Creams

I don’t know how I feel about the metallic lips trend, but it looks like I’m throwing myself into the deep end. With these being a lip cream it means it’s a comfortable formula that isn’t drying. They have a gel like consistency, but they aren’t sticky or thick. You can feel them on the lips, but it’s not uncomfortable. They’re also incredibly pigmented and one swipe gives full coverage. With the coverage being full, but them not having a matte finish means they do transfer, as they don’t set into place.

Are these something I’d wear everyday? No, but I think they’re fun for occasions. I can imagine they will be perfect for the works Christmas party. Just make sure you’re able to reapply, as they do transfer.
