While the creamy Bilou shower foams and body lotions are no longer stocked on UK drugstore shelves like Superdrug or Boots, this German brand is still going strong across Europe. If you are a UK beauty lover or an international reader looking to get your hands on these fun scents, they can still be easily ordered online through international beauty retailers. I’ve left my original, honest review below so you can see if they are worth tracking down!
I don’t know about you, but I am a complete sucker for cute packaging and sweet scents, so when a brand combines both, I’m instantly intrigued. A little while ago, the team over at Bilou reached out and asked if they could send a few of their bits my way. Of course, I jumped at the chance to test them out for you all.
I’ve been playing around with them in my routine for a few months now, and since I’ve finally given them a proper run for their money, it’s time for a little catch-up! Let’s dive into my completely honest Bilou review to see how I got on with these pastel treats.

Dermatest score of “Excellent” as the formulas contain absolutely zero parabens, silicones, or mineral oils. Instead, they use nourishing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Almond Oil, and Avocado Oil to keep the skin happy.
The Packaging
First things first: the packaging is absolutely gorgeous! It features the prettiest pastel colors and cute little illustrations that look lovely sitting in your bathroom. Most importantly, it’s completely functional. There is no style over substance here, it’s cute, and the dispensing mechanisms work perfectly.
Creamy Shower Foam | Fizzy Berry
The Creamy Shower Foam is such a fun, unique take on a traditional shower gel. To use it, you just give the can a good shake and make sure to hold the bottle completely upright when dispensing the product. You’re then left with a massive, cloud like pile of thick foam in your hands, and you’re good to go!
It is extremely gentle on the skin thanks to the almond and avocado oils. I’d describe the Fizzy Berry scent as a delicious pink lemonade; it has a zesty undertone, but it still manages to be wonderfully sweet. Because of the thick texture, I’ve actually been thoroughly enjoying using this as a hydrating shaving foam instead!
Gentle Cream Foam | Fizzy Berry
I absolutely love matching my body moisturiser with my shower gels, so I was very happy to see that Bilou creates the exact same scents across multiple product types.
At first, I was a little bit confused as to what a “Cream Foam” actually was, but the back of the can very helpfully clarifies it as a foam lotion. It works similarly to the shower foam, you give it a good shake, and it dispenses as a lightweight cream mousse that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky after use.
As someone with very dry skin, this unfortunately isn’t quite moisturising enough for me. I need something a little more heavy duty to truly hydrate my skin. It’s a really fun concept, and I’ve never used a foam body lotion before, but it just lacks the intense hydration my dry skin craves.
2 in 1 Bodyspray | Coco Cocktail
I was originally very excited about the 2-in-1 aspect of this product because I thought it could double up as an everyday deodorant that smells amazing. However, after giving it a try under my arms, it took way too long to dry and I felt like I was waiting around forever.
Despite starting on a bit of a negative note there, this actually turned out to be my absolute favourite product of the bunch. I took this bottle on holiday with me, and it was incredibly handy. It has the most amazing tropical scent with notes of coconut and vanilla that is just perfect for summer weather.
I also threw this in my bag when we went to a spa day, and it was the ultimate way to quickly freshen up after using the saunas. The scent doesn’t last incredibly long on the skin, but it is so easy to top up throughout the day.
The Final Verdict: Is Bilou Worth It?
Overall, I have really enjoyed testing these products out. But I don’t think I’d rush out to repurchase them for myself. To be completely honest, I think I may just be a little bit too old. To fully appreciate the novelty of a foam lotion.
However, I think these would make the absolute perfect gift for younger teenagers who would really love the fun textures, sweet scents, and gentle formulas. They are genuinely good products, they just aren’t quite suited to my specific skin needs.

I really like Bilou! I do tend to use their products after I use a similar scented shower gel first because I find they don’t make me feel super clean and fresh like you should after a shower lol. But I do like the scents they offer and that they are kind of a 2-in-1 product because they are nice and moisturising too x
