A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to receive a few bits from bilou. After trying them out for a while it only seems right to report back and tell you how I got on with them. Like always this isn’t sponsored and all opinions are my own.
This is my bilou Review!
bilou was created by a German YouTuber called BibisBeautyPlace, who I’ve never watched as there is a very obvious language barrier going on, but I’m sure her videos are amazing. All of the products are 100% Vegan and cruelty free, which makes this brand easy to get behind. The cans are also recyclable which is another amazing touch. They have a Dermatest score of Excellent. As the cans do not contain any parabens, silicones, mineral oil or animal ingredients. Instead they use Aloe Vera, Almond and Avocado oil to ensure the excellent rating.
First things first: the packaging! It is so cute, with pretty pastel colours and cute little illustrations; it works really well. It also seems designed well that it’s pretty, but still functions. As there’s nothing worse when a product looks good, but the style of packaging just doesn’t fit with the product. Does that make sense? For a Blogger I do feel awful at explaining things.
Creamy Shower Foam | Fizzy Berry – £3.99
The creamy Shower Foam is a fun take on shower gel. You have to give it a good shake and then make sure to have the bottle upright when dispensing the product. You’re then left with a pile of foam in your hands and you’re good to go. I’m not 100% on this, and that’s only because I use exfoliating gloves, and find that the foam doesn’t go very far when paired together. It’s extremely gentle with ingredients such as: Almond and Avocado Oil. I’d describe the scent as Pink Lemonade, as it has a zesty undertone, but it still manages to be sweet. To me it seems like a great scent for Spring. Overall I do think this is a great Shower Foam, as it’s something fun and different. It’s just best to use with something that aren’t exfoliating gloves. It does make a great shaving foam too.
Gentle Cream Foam | Fizzy Berry – £3.99
I love matching my moisturiser with shower gels… or in this case foam, so I’m very happy that they do the same scents across the multiple products. At first I was a little confused to what this, but on the back it very helpfully has foam lotion in brackets next to the name. This works similar to the shower foam, as you have to give it a good shake for it to work. It comes out as foam and doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky after use. As someone with dry skin this isn’t moisturising enough for me, but that’s me being fussy. It does work well as a moisturiser, but it’s not quite hydrating enough for my dry skin. It’s a fun concept that I think is great, as it’s something a little different.
2 in 1 Bodyspray | Coco Cocktail – £3.99
I was very excited about the 2 in 1 aspect of this, as I thought this could be a deodorant that smells amazing. After giving it a try, it took way too long to dry and I was waiting about for my pits to dry before getting changed… sorry for that mental image. Even though I’ve started on a negative there, this is probably my favourite product. I took this on holiday with me in September, and it was incredibly handy. It has the most amazing tropical scent with notes of coconut and vanilla, that is just amazing for Summer. I took this with me when we went to the Spa which was a great way to freshen up after using the saunas. The scent doesn’t last very long, but it’s easy to top up throughout the day.
Where to Purchase?
bilou is exclusively available in Superdrug in the UK, and the range is incredibly affordable with 3 for 2 offers being on most of the time.
That’s everything! A huge thank you to bilou for sending these over. Even though this seems quite negative, they are amazing products. They just didn’t work for me.
That was my bilou Review! I have also reviewed the Body Shop Body Milks.
Have you tried bilou?
