This seems like a weird product to review at this time of year, considering the scent screams summer. Unfortunately The Body Shop don’t do many sugar scrubs, in fact there are two scents to pick from which isn’t the best. Sugar scrubs are my favourite, as I feel like they really make a difference where as the Cream ones can be a little too gentle.
What is It?
The Mango Body Scrub contains Mango Seed Oil from India and has a sugar particle texture. Sweep across skin to remove dead skin cells, it sounds pretty grim, but it works really well.
I’ve already mentioned the lack of choice of scents for the sugar scrubs, as most of the Body Shop scrubs are cream based. In the sugar scrubs you can get Mango or Shea. This is my first Mango product and I have fallen for the scent, it is perfect for Summer, as it is so sweet and fruity. If you prefer a tropical, fruity scent then you will love this.
Even though the scent may not be the best for Winter, the texture is. With it being a sugar scrub it is best for those with dry skin. I wouldn’t say this is the harshest scrub I’ve ever used, but it’s not the most gentle. If you want gentle then the cream scrubs are the ones for you.
How to Use
Massage into wet skin and then rinse off. I tend to use this once a week or less, as you don’t want to over do it. It’s always best to follow with a moisturiser afterwards too, just to protect the skin and hydrate it.
Does it Work?
Yes, this really works! It’s also brilliant because it doesn’t leave any kind of residue on the skin either. It smells amazing and leaves the skin feeling soft which is what we want from a scrub.
There are two sizes to pick from:
50ml for £6
250ml for £15
I have the 250ml and found that it’s ran out pretty quickly. Considering I bought it in Mid August and it’s already nearly empty isn’t the best sign.
That is everything! Overall it is a really great scrub, which I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.
