I obviously still love a long title, somethings never change. I’ve been on and off with blogging for a while now, as you may have noticed by the scattered posting. This post is going to be my attempt at ‘chatty’, which tends to be more of a ramble. In all honesty I’m never sure if my chatty posts go down that well, but lets give it a try. This post is going to be a little update on where I’ve been and changes I’m making to enjoy blogging again.
So Let’s Have a Catchup: A Social Media Break and What I’ve Been Up To.
Lack of Motivation
By this I don’t mean not being bothered to blog; if anything I really wanted to be able to post. I just didn’t know what to post. Which meant it was pretty impossible to keep up. I’m pretty sure I know what caused it and that was going in with guns blazing. It wasn’t clever, and I burnt out quickly This time I’m going to take things slow and not put any unnecessary pressure on myself.
Branching Out
I used to post about a range of things, but just lately everything seems to be beauty related or monthly favourites. I’m not mad about monthly favourites, as I haven’t exactly been shy about saying they’re my favourite posts to write. I just want to do more than beauty all of the time. I’m going to try and start baking again, as I really enjoyed sharing the recipes I found and the results I had. I think I got carried away with being a strictly beauty blog, when thats not what I want anymore. Don’t get me wrong I’ll still be writing about beauty, but hopefully there should be more of a variety soon.
Revamping
I really didn’t like my old theme, which I think contributed to feeling uninspired. After the whole Pipdig fiasco, I had no idea where to turn and where I ended up being too much of a struggle. Customising wasn’t as straight forward, and I had an issue with replying to comments. Which in all fairness probably could’ve been resolved, but they wanted my password, which I wasn’t willing to risk. I’ve now found a simple theme, that I’m enjoying and still trying to perfect.
Holiday
At the end of June I went to Tenerife with my boyfriend and had an incredible time. A little holiday spam is happening over on Instagram too. I loved Tenerife and would 100% go back, but there is more to explore just yet. We’ve got more holidays in the pipeline and even booked the mystery Ā£99 holiday with Wowcher.
That’s about all I wanted to touch on in this post. I’m looking forward to starting blogging again with this fresh mindset and I can’t wait to get back into things!
That was: Let’s Have a Catchup: A Social Media Break and What I’ve Been Up To.
What do you think of my chatty posts?
Thank you for reading!
Loved this post Hannah! I’ve been away from my blog for a little while as well. I could definitely relate to a couple of your points there. Lack of motivation was something I struggled with for ages. I think I’ve managed to move past it now and I’m hoping to start posting more consistently again. I’m thinking about revamping too! I think your new theme is lovely.
Thank you so much! It’s really hard to struggle with no motivation isn’t it? I’m glad you’re moving past it now though! Sometimes a little revamp is much needed, your theme is so pretty though! Thank you xx
A Mystery holiday sounds so fun! I know what you mean by feeling in a rut, always a good idea to take a break and find some new passions xx

Yay so glad to see a new post from you! I went through a phase of having no motivation a few months ago too, I just wasn’t sure what to talk about and didn’t really know where I fitted within blogging. Luckily now I’m really enjoying it again, sometimes a break can do so much good so I hope it has for you too š xx

Thank you! It’s not good, is it? Glad you figured everything out and back at it now. Thank you xx
I think its so important to take a little break and not put too much pressure on yourself when you’re lacking motivation. I’m glad you’ve been able to take the time to find what you want to do and that you’re back!
Chloe X
It really is, you’re spot on! Thank you xx
I think it’s so important to not be afraid to branch out a little and follow your heart and intuition. I started as a beauty blogger and when I finally decided to follow my gut and publish more lifestyle and self-growth related content, everything changed for me. It’s so important to share all of our passions and interests, our thoughts, with the world. What better way to do it than through blogging? š Looking forward to seeing more variety of beautiful content from you! š

I love chatty posts. I had such a hard time trying to find a decent theme after the Pipdig fiasco too. I’m still not entirely happy with the layout but at least it’s up and running again.
They’re fab aren’t they? It was a tough time for sure, and thats true, at least it’s running. It took me a while to find a theme I like too xx
Can’t wait to see all the new content you’ve got planned!xx

I won’t lie, I did a similar thing this past month for very similar reasons. The only thing I would add is busyness. I loved the honesty in this post, and hope you will do more chatty posts.

Sometimes a break is much needed isn’t it? Thank you so much xx
This is exactly how I’ve felt recently so the break I had was much needed and Tenerife sounds like a dream holiday!!
Sometimes a break is much needed, and I’m glad it’s worked out for you! It was lovely xx
I’m right there with you! I have found myself having to take a step back from the pressure that social media puts on us. I’ve been reminding myself that it isn’t real life at the end of the day.

A break is much needed, and that’s true! I hope things have been better since xx
I’m glad you are slowly finding your way back to blogging! Lack of knowing what to post and branching out are two things I struggled with a bit this year. The great thing about blogging is it’s always there and sometimes taking time off is the best choice. And I really enjoy reading these chatty posts!

Thank you! It can be so hard, but so rewarding when you find your feet. That’s so true! Thank you so much!xx
Social media breaks are necessary for the creative process and our mindsets, so I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. It can be so hard to come up with new ideas!
