Products I Regret Buying

I have thought about doing this post for a while now, but I’ve always put it off. It’s no secret that I have a slight makeup obsession. Which was a lot worse back in the day, as I would find a reason to buy practically everything. This has led to a few products I regret buying and I thought I would share them with you. This doesn’t mean that they’re bad products, they just didn’t work for me.

This is Products I Regret Buying.

Urban Decay | Naked Heat Palette

I love Urban Decay Naked palettes and it still breaks my heart that they discontinued the original. Back when this palette was released I was in a different headspace and wanted to own all of the Naked palettes, so I bought this one. I also wanted to do a review, which again; wrong headspace. I experimented with this palette and enjoyed it for a month, but I don’t gravitate towards it at all.

Multiple MAC Lipsticks

MAC lipsticks used to have my heart, so I did the rational thing and bought loads. You know as you do… This isn’t me saying I regret buying all of my MAC lipsticks, but I definitely bought too many and ended up with way more than I could use and had to throw some out as they had started to go bad. This was my wakeup call that makeup does not last forever, so use what you have.

ColourPop | No Filter Foundation Stick

Why did I think it was a good idea to buy the shade 07 N? This looks way too dark for me. I’m disappointed as I have heard amazing things, but this shade is going to do nothing for me at all. I want to test it out when I have tan on, as it might match me better then. As for now this is going unused.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick

I have always hated drying lipsticks, but back when liquid lipsticks were the thing to own I tried my best to get in on it. Which led to me trying multiple formula’s to find one that I liked. Let’s just say this was not one of them. With most liquid lipsticks I can keep them on for a few hours, but this one did not flatter me at all and I have to take it off faster than I applied it.

Becca | Eye Lights Palette

I’m the kind of person who thought a palette called Eye Lights was a face highlighter palette. I know, I don’t know what I was thinking either. Basically I thought this eyeshadow palette was for your face and when I realised it wasn’t I put it to the back of the draw and haven’t looked at it since. The shades are nice and all, but I don’t feel drawn to the palette and when it comes to doing my eyeshadow I always forget that I own it.

ColourPop | Hades Super Shock Highlighter

This is another product I regret buying because of the shade not suiting me. This highlighter is a part of ColourPop’s super shock range which means it has a cream to powder finish and I don’t think it’s lasted well in the compact compared to the usual pots. This shade is a lot darker than I was expecting it to be, as it has a deep yellow/ peach base with a pink shimmer. It’s fair to say that I did not need this highlighter in my collection.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Glow Kit Ultimate Glow

Speaking of products not suiting me… Who knows what was going through my head when I bought this. Snow is the only shade that I know will be the right shade for me, but I’m not keen on white highlighters so that’s that one out. I used to like the shade White Sand judging by the pan, but even that looks dark for my pale self.

There we have it, those are some products I regret buying. Most of them fall into the category of me not thinking things through rather than the product it’s self, so that says a lot.

What makeup do you regret buying?

Thank you for reading!

This is a great list of items, there are definitely a whole bunch of products I regret buying over the years of makeup. It’s so sad to see that there are some products on this list that you regret buying cause of a shade match issue! I hate when that happens. Great post Hannah xx

Thank you so much, I’m glad you think so! We definitely rack up some products that don’t work over the years and it’s a shame, but at least we learn what kind of things to buy in the future. I know, it’s always shame. Thank you so much xx

I’m totally with you on that Becca palette. I finally bit the bullet and got rid of it recently. I think I knew it was an eyeshadow palette but since 3 of the shades were called the same as the highlighters I figured it would be the same thing. It was a wee bit different in pigmentation though so I only used it for the highlighters a handful of times. I never ever reached for it as an eyeshadow palette and I found it so chunky to store so I just finally said goodbye to it!

So sad to hear the Naked Heat palette isn’t your thing. I love the shades in that palette! Doesn’t mean I reach for it daily but I do think it’s still a nice asset to my collection.

I remember your comment from when I posted it a few weeks back and felt relieved that it wasn’t just me who didn’t like it. It’s definitely a strange one. I’ll probably do the same and get rid of mine soon, like you say it’s too bulky.

Yeah, it’s not for me at all. I loved it for a while, but the red just are not for me. It’s definitely a lovely addition if you like the reds as it’s perfect for it. xx

This was such an interesting post! If I’m honest I don’t think the Naked palettes are even that great. Sure the colours are pretty but the one I have isn’t even that great pigmentation wise and has a lot of fall out. I definitely think they’re a lot better palettes out there and for a lot cheaper. So crazy how times change! There’s definitely a lot of products I have regretted spending money on haha xx

Thank you so much, I’m glad you think so! I know what you mean, I don’t think they’re the best on the market, but I enjoy the original and the second one. If I had to pick just one, I’d pick ColourPop shadows over them for the price they just don’t compare. It’s always a shame when something doesn’t work for you xx

I used to have so many regrets but I’m much better at not just buying things straight away these days and that has helped me to have fewer regrets. I found with Naked Heat that all of the shades blended into one on me! That Becca palette is gorgeous and I nearly bought it so many times but just knew I wouldn’t use it! x

Same here, it’s always better when you think it through first and definitely leaves you with less regrets. Ah no way, that’s interesting. It’s not one of their best palettes for sure. It has so many lovely colours, but it’s not practical at all xx

Totally been in the same place as you especially with eyeshadow palettes! I bought my first one in three years the other day but it was only £4.75 from Beauty Bay so I dont feel too bad haha. Now if only I could stop with the lipcstik, blush and bronzer purchases! xx

This was so interesting! I really wanted to try out the Naked Heat palette but I’m glad I didn’t give into the hype as I just know I wouldn’t have got much use out of it. I used to always want to buy things as soon as they came out or if everyone else had it but I’m much better now at taking my time and working out if it’s actually going to be something I use! xx

It’s a bit of a shame that they cranked the price up, as they could definitely still be popular if they weren’t overpriced xx

Real talk family dinner review!🤍 (Gifted/ invite) Real talk family dinner review!🤍
(Gifted/ invite)

We treated the kids to a meal out at weathervanemeirpark this weekend, and the family vibes were lovely. One of the biggest wins was that the staff brought over colouring pages and crayons for both kids without us even having to ask. Which is a lifesaver with two toddlers🥵

Noah and Ella were completely won over by the food. Noah cleared his plate of sausage, chips, and beans, and Ella was living her best life with pasta, corn on the cob, and chips (a toddler dream combo, let’s be real😂)

As for the adults, Jake loved The Big Melt burger. I ordered the Katsu Curry Feast, and we did have a little hiccup where my chicken looked a little pink, but I always judge a place by how they handle mistakes. The staff were absolutely brilliant, replaced it immediately, and even brought over a complimentary drink to apologise. Great customer service honestly makes all the difference.🫶🏻

It’s a super welcoming, stress free spot if you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids this weekend.

Swipe to the very end to see Ella making sure no ice cream got left behind😂

Yesterday we headed to Drayton Manor for the first time, and we absolutely loved it! 🚂

The highlights:

🎢 We managed to hit all the rides we wanted.

⏱️ Queue times were super manageable—the longest we waited was 30 minutes, which is the absolute limit with a 1 and 3-year-old! 😂

🥵 It was too hot to make it to the zoo this time, but with animal-loving toddlers, we will definitely be back to check it out. 🐯
