If there is one thing I love; it’s a good dupe. I mean, who doesn’t like saving money? Especially when the product is as good as, or better than the original. As soon as I tried Benefits Roller Lash mascara, I was a little taken aback by how similar the wand is to Maybelline’s Lash Sensational. Let’s be honest; they could be twins. This led me to compare the two, and now I’m here to share my thoughts with you.

The Price
These brands are at different price points, so it’s obvious that the prices are going to vary, but let’s see by how much. Benefit’s Roller Lash will set you back £24.50 for 8.5ml. Where as Maybelline’s Lash Sensational costs £9.99 for 9.5ml of product.
Which means you’re saving £14.51 for the cheaper version; in fact you could buy two and still have money left over. As well as that, you’re getting more product, so it’s pretty fair to say that Maybelline’s Lash Sensational has won this round.
The Wands
I’ve already mentioned that the wands are practically twins, as they are very similar. Both brushes are plastic and have a slight curve to them. The curve allows the wand to get to the bottom of the lashes, with the smaller bristles coating every lash.
Roller Lash has a slightly thinner wand, but I don’t think it makes a difference to applying the product. Lash Sensational’s wand picks up more product, which means it can be a little clumpy, until the formula has dried out a little.
The Formula
As I’ve mentioned Lash Sensational has a wetter formula, but it’s fine once it’s been open and is able to dry a little. Roller Lash however doesn’t have this problem, and doesn’t need time to dry out a little. Due to this, I find the Maybelline version easier to build volume, but Roller Lash can need a little more work due to it having a drier formula.
Both of them add a great amount of curl and length to the lashes. I never curl my lashes and with these I find that I don’t need too, as they do it for me.
The Verdict
It’s pretty obvious which one I prefer, I mean; I don’t shut up about the Lash Sensational on my blog. It’s been my go to for numerous years. It has never let me down, and I know it performs just as well as high end mascaras. Roller Lash isn’t a bad mascara by any means, it just gets out performed by something much cheaper.

Maybelline has some amazing mascaras that are really up there in terms of quality compared to the higher end brands! They make some fantastic dupes and are easily my go-to for mascara! They just get it right every time!
