When I first started to make more of an effort with bath products, I had no idea what was what. Which meant I spent a lot of time researching, to see which one was better suited to me. Now that I have more knowledge on the subject, I thought I’d share it with you.
I tend to only get these products from Lush, so this post details my experience with them.
This is: What’s the Difference Between a Bath Bomb and Bubble Bar?
What is a Bath Bomb?
A bath bomb is a product you drop into the water. It will then start to fizz, and they often change the colour of the water. They come in all shapes, sizes and scents; and they often release oils or salts. These oils are added, as bath bombs can often lead to the skin feeling dry.
What is a Bubble Bar?
A bubble bar is a solid form of bubble bath. Instead of pouring a liquid under the tap, you crumble as much of the bar as you like. This means you tend to get more use out of it, as they can last for more than one bath. Its only job is to produce bubbles, but they are often scented and coloured too.
Bath Bombs

How do I Use It?
Bath bombs are very simple to use. You fill the bath up, and then add the bath bomb. You can also half it, if you’d like to make it go further. This may impact the end result, but is still a good option to make sure you get your moneys worth.
What Else?
If you’re looking for something to produce fancy bath art, then bath bombs are for you. They often leave trails of colours over the water, that are very beautiful look at. I have reviewed some bath bombs, so you can see them in water. This includes: Goddess, Rocket Science and Think Pink.
Some bath bombs contain glitter, which is either a pro or a con; it all depends on your preference. I like how it looks in the water, but I hate cleaning the bath afterwards, as it can be a pain to remove.
Bath bombs do not make any bubbles, which is something to keep in mind.
Bubble Bars

How Do I Use It?
To use a bubble bar you break a little bit off and crumble it under running water. Some people like to use a sieve, but gently massaging it will do the job too. Just make sure it’s under running water as it doesn’t do anything if it’s dropped into the water on its own.
What Else?
If you want bubbles then bubble bars are for you. You can use as much as you’d like to get your preferred outcome.
Bubble bars often last longer than bath bombs, as you can get numerous baths out of one bar. I tend to get 3-4 uses out of them, but this depends on the size of the product.
Bubble bars cut down on plastic as you don’t have to buy bubble bath.
So Which One Should I Pick?
Now this I can’t help you with. Everyone is different, so it’s up to you to figure out which one you’d prefer. I struggle to pick between them, and often find myself using both, as I love the fun colours of bath bombs, but I need bubbles.
