This highlighter holds a special place in my heart, as it’s the first one I ever tried. It’s also the first powder product I completely used up, and I have hit pan since this photo was taken. Which means; you know it’s a good one. It’s definitely up there with my all time favourites, as I can’t see myself using anything else anytime soon.
This is The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Review.
The Shade:
Mary Lou Manizer is a golden champagne, with warm undertones. I was worried that it wouldn’t suit my pale skin, but luckily it does. It also works when I have a tan. To me this feels like a classic highlighter, as you really can’t go wrong with golds and champagnes.
The Formula and Finish:
It’s a smooth highlighter that applies easily and blends like a dream. You don’t need to apply a lot, as it’s very pigmented. However this means, that it’s easy to apply too much, but I like how you can get a subtle finish for the daytime with minimal product, but you can apply more for a blinding finish. There is no chunky glitter either, which is nice.
The Lasting Power:
I find that this lasts all day and I never need to reapply throughout the day. As it doesn’t fade as the day goes on. Which is always a bonus as I don’t like taking my highlighters out with me. As I can be a bit clumsy, so I’d probably end up smashing it.
The Packaging:
It’s packaged in a round compact, that feels very sturdy. It always closes with a satisfying click, so you know it’s secure. There is also a mirror on the inside, which comes in handy.
The exterior has a similar vibe to Benefit, as it has a retro aesthetic.
On the Skin:
I wore this highlighter all the time whilst on holiday, and I love how glowy it made my skin look.
The Price:
This highlighter costs £20, which is still pricey, but it’s not as expensive as some of the others on the market. I’m not sure if it’s a 100% dupe, but I also really enjoy the Like a Diamond highlighter from Doll Beauty which costs £15. If you’re after something a little cheaper. You can get the Mary Lou Manizer from Sephora.

I love this! I've now replaced it with my Becca highlighter because the shade suits my skin tone better, but this is still an amazing highlight 🙂
