Essence Lipstick Collection and Swatches

When I had a look through my makeup collection, trying to gather some inspiration for a post I found my Essence lipsticks that I really need to wear more. They’re affordable, but work extremely well!

I have lipsticks from the Sheer & Shine and Long Lasting range. The packaging differs slightly between the ranges, but all of the lipsticks have an ‘e’ engraved into them. Want to hear the best part? The most expensive lipstick in this post costs £2.30!

Sheer & Shine

The lipsticks in this range cost £2, and the formula is exactly what the name would suggest. If you like matte lipsticks then this is not the range for you, this is more of a tinted lip balm. They do start out with hardly any pigment, but after a couple of swipes they build up.

02 Cute Nude

This is a peachy nude with a tiny bit of shimmer. I included this lipstick in my Spring lipstick picks, as this colour is perfect for that season.

12 Candy Love

As you’ll be able to see from the swatches this colour is extremely similar to Cute Nude, as they practically look the same. Candy Love is a pale medium pink.

09 I Feel Pretty

Out of my collection this is the colour that is most unlike the others. This is definitely a lipstick that is perfect for Autumn, and I included this in last years blogmas post on red lipsticks. This is a berry colour with plum undertones.

11 All About Cupcake

I think I have a habit of picking similar coloured lipsticks, because this is in the same area as Cute Nude and Candy Love, but this one is a pale coral. I’d say this one is especially sheer, and is perfect for Summer when you want something light.

Left to Right: Cute Nude, Candy Love, I Feel Pretty and All About Cupcake

Long Lasting

These lipsticks are definitely more of a satin finish, so it isn’t as long-lasting as a matte formula would be, but the satin finish makes it a lot more comfortable to wear. I found this lipstick to be hydrating and pigmented. This range costs £2.30

06 Barely There

This is my favourite from my collection, as I love the ‘My Lips, but Better’ Lipstick which this lipstick is. Barely there is a perfect colour for everyday use, as it’s a nude with mauve tones to it.

That is my Essence lipstick collection! Overall Essence lipsticks are definitely worth it, if you don’t mind reapplying throughout the day. You really can’t grumble when the price is so low! I found Essence makeup in Wilko’s, as it’s not in Superdrug or Boots.

Have you tried an Essence lipstick?

Thank you for reading!

I love these colours. Especially the darker shade at the end of the post! I work in Wilkos and a lot of people are always buying these lipsticks, they are very popular!

    • 14th August 2017 / 10:14 pm

The last one is one of my personal favourites, it’s such a gorgeous nude! Really, I guess it’s not surprising when the price is so good xx

I need to get my hands on barely there! I normally get them from Wilko too, but my local superdrug has a counter too. The liquid lipsticks are almost always sold out though x

Essence is so affordable and I really love these shades and colours of the lipsticks. Have not used mine in a while. <3 /Madison

They really are! They do have some really pretty colours, and I hope you manage to get some more use out of yours xx

  19. 15th August 2017 / 9:06 am

I cannot believe that the most expensive lipstick that you own from them is only £2.30, that’s crazy cheap! I feel like reapplying throughout the day is something you kind of have to do with most lipsticks anyway so it doesn’t bother me too much. Cute nude is sooo pretty

    • 15th August 2017 / 11:25 am

I know! They’re so good too, so it’s the best of both worlds really! That’s true, and it really is xx

  20. 15th August 2017 / 10:21 am

I love lipsticks like this as when they start to wear off throughout the day it’s a lot less noticeable so you don’t have to worry about constant re-applying like you do with super matte/block coloured ones! My favourites would have to be “I feel pretty” and “barely there” they look gorgeous!
    Alice Xx

    • 15th August 2017 / 11:27 am

That’s true, these do fade really nicely, so there’s nothing to worry about! Those two shades are really gorgeous xx

  21. 15th August 2017 / 11:38 am

Their longlasting lipsticks are some of my favourites. If you want to try out more, I would definitely recommend the one called “Time for a Toffee Break” or something along those lines. It’s a perfect your lips but better colour xx Nikita

Essence have some really great products and they’re all really affordable which is great! No problem xx

  24. 16th August 2017 / 10:38 pm

I remember my Essence lipsticks, I used to love them so much! I found them great to start out with lipstick. I wasn’t much of a lipstick wearer so I would always get these Essence ones to try out a particular shade. I don’t really onw one anymore and I’ve moved on to better and more high-end lipsticks, but these lipsticks were the perfect ones for transisioning into a lipstick-hoarder!

the more i buy make up the more i find myself liking essence products.
i have never tried foundations or concealers…and i think i will not try these products even in the future. i am so picky on what i use as a base.
but i really love lipsticks and mascara by essence. They’re affordable and they do a pretty good job!! yes, i need to fix my lips sometimes during the day, but i don’t mind that. the price is good for the quality of the product.
day by day i bought all the shades of the long lasting collection, but i’ve never tryied the the sheer & shine collection. and i really like the shades you have. so i took a note of the numbers and i will soon look for them in the stores!!
your blog is so nice!! i will come back in the future to read more about you.
if yuo want, you can take a look to the blog i share with my sister. we are new in blogging and we have to improve a lot. we would like to have some advices from people with more experience and you are very good as blooger to me. the blog is in italian, but we have the translator so you are welcome reading if you want to.

I’ve not tried foundation or concealers from Essence either. The lipsticks are really great and they have so many pretty colours to pick from. You have all of the long lasting range, that is such an amazing collection! The sheer and shine are great for hot days when you want something light, but I guess you could layer them over lipsticks too. Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to check out your blog xx
