If there’s one thing that I overlook, it’s shaving. I’ve never thought to look into the type of products I use, as I’ve always stuck to the same brand without a thought. And then I saw Estrid popping up here, there and everywhere. The pastel handles instantly caught my attention and after seeing countless positive things, it’s simple to say that I was intrigued.
I was planning on ordering this for myself, but the team over at Estrid got in contact with me first. Which means I was gifted this razor, but all opinions are my own.
Let’s get into the Estrid razor review.
What is Estrid?
Estrid are a Scandinavian vegan razor subscription service. That have taken Instagram by storm, due to the cute yet practical design. Estrid believe that hair removal should be option, however great hair removal shouldn’t. I love the positive quotes that are all over the packaging too.
For every purchase made Estrid will donate a portion to Kvinna till Kvinna, Medica Mondiale, or the Fawcett Society. In October they donated 2% of the sales to Pink Ribbon Foundation for every pink razor sold. And finally if you add the code Smooth at checkout then they will donate an extra £1 of every purchase to the Fawcett Society.
The Subscription Service
For £7.95 you are able to build a starter kit. In the starter kit you receive: the steel handle, wall holder and two cartridges. When you place you’re order you are able to pick what colour you would prefer out of: Blush, Cloud (grey), Space (lilac), Peach and Lemonade. I chose Blush, because anything Pink has my heart.
From here, you choose how often you would like to receive the replacement cartridges, depending on how often you shave. These replacements cost £9.95 and for that you get four cartridges delivered to your door. However you are able to cancel, pause or skip your subscription at any time.
I have to say that I was a little hesitant to use this at first, as I was convinced that I’d somehow manage to accidentally cut myself. However, I have been pleasantly surprised, as I haven’t… touch wood. This razor feel like magic, because at first it felt like nothing was happening, but after I double checked; the hair had gone. It vanished within one stroke, and I didn’t feel a thing.
The razor cartridges themselves are covered in a lubricating strip, that contains: cacao seed butter, shea butter, jojoba oil and grape seed oil. This means it leaves the skin feeling nice and hydrated. However I do like to go over my legs with my favourite moisturiser.
The steel handle is very weighty and not at all flimsy like the other razors I’ve tried. I’d also highly recommend remembering to use the wall holder that you get with your starter kit, as I forgot and when I next picked the razor up the hydrating strip needed a wash as it had became gloopy and a bit gross. I’m also pretty sure that these will rust if they’re not properly dried because of the steel handle.
I would highly recommend checking Estrid out if you’re in the market for a new razor. The quality is amazing and I love that you can skip a month or cancel whenever you want to, oh and not to mention and how it’s economically better.
There we have it that was my Estrid Razor Review.
A huge thank you to Estrid for sending this out to me.
