I love painting my nails. in fact it used to be a part of my Sunday routine; the day was not complete if I hadn’t refreshed my nails. It’s what led me to creating a huge collection, but I eventually slimmed it down in 2019. I documented the whole process with ablog post, if you’d like to see what made the cut.
I was recently contacted by the nail artist and manicurist Roxanne Campbell, asking to review two of her nail lacquers; fresh from her first collection. In case you’re unsure of who Roxanne Campbell is, she has done the nails of celebrities such as: Adele and Jordan Dunn.
This is Roxanne Campbell Review and Swatches.
What are They?
These nail lacquers are made in the UK. They’re also cruelty free and claim to only need one coat with a long-lasting formula. I received two colours from the Summer line: Sitting Pretty (a bright pink) and Violets are Blue (a mid tone blue).
The Packaging
The bottle reminds me a lot of other luxury brands such as Chanel and Dior, so the packaging fits right into the luxurious market. I’ll admit that it’s not my favourite, but that’s just due to my personal preference. Nail polish with a rectangular bottle just doesn’t jump out at me.
How Much do they Cost?
One nail polish will set you back £15. Which is more middle of the road, compared to other brands. They definitely aren’t the cheapest on the market, but you can spend a lot more. I feel like £15 is expensive, but you get what you pay for. As I can tell a difference with the lasting power.
Sitting Pretty
I was drawn to Sitting Pretty immediately, as I love pink on nails. I wasn’t quite sure how I would take to a bright pink, but I fell in love. This is opaque with one coat and dries incredibly quickly. This has lasted incredibly well too with only the edges chipping away slightly, but that’s after a week of wear.
Violets are Blue
Violets are Blue is such a unique colour, that I found it hard to compare it to anything else. I do think the quality of this one isn’t as good as Sitting Pretty, but that’s only because Sitting Pretty doesn’t need as many coats. I had to do two coats of this one, as it did apply slightly streaky, but you can’t beat the lasting power, as it lasts just as well and also dries incredibly quickly.

Overall
I really like both of these. I’ve found myself really enjoying Sitting Pretty, it’s a gorgeous colour for Summer. The lasting power is also great, as I’ve managed to go a week with only minor chips.

Sitting Pretty is the perfect pink shade, I really am in love with it. I’m so into pinky colours but I rarely find a pink nail polish that isn’t either too pastel so it becomes unnoticeable or too Barbie in a way that wouldn’t suit me but I think Sitting Pretty looks fantastic.
