We’ve finally reached empties #5!
I’ve mentioned in a few posts now that I’m trying to use up products that I already have, which means my empties posts should be posted a little closer together now. Previously they’ve been years apart, and I wish I was being dramatic. In all honesty I should have posted this a little sooner, as this post is a little long.
I have decided to not include products that I have included in previous empties posts, as I don’t need to go over them again. This might not seem relevant, but I was going to include the Revolution conceal and define concealer in this post, but I included it in my second empties.
Let’s get into my Empties #5.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dewy Set Setting Spray
I must admit that when I first saw this packaging, I thought: woah, that’s a very glittery setting spray. Turns out that the gold glitter is just the packaging and not the spray. I actually believe that this setting spray has no shimmer in it at all. This setting spray left my skin feeling refreshed and smooth, with a dewy finish. It also has a vanilla and coconut scent which is one of my favourite combinations.
Repurchase?: It’s a nice setting spray, but I won’t rush.
Tarte | Shape Tape Concealer
Isn’t this everybody’s favourite concealer? Everyone raves about this concealer as it is a good one. It’s full coverage and a little bit goes a long way. It lasts all day, and I never suffered with it creasing or flaking. I have the shade Fair and it is perfect for brightening the under eyes.
Benefit | Bad Gal Bang Mascara
I don’t think this is a bad mascara, but it is not my favourite. When this mascara was first released and I saw a lot of YouTubers raving about it, so I thought it was going to be incredible. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to those expectations, which is probably my fault for expecting so much. This mascara lengthens and separates lashes, but I prefer my Lash Sensational from Maybelline.
Repurchase?: Probably not.
Maybelline | Fit Me Concealer
I have had this concealer in my collection for the longest time, so it was time to finally use it up. I loved using this concealer, it glides on and feels very lightweight and creamy. It’s not at all heavy and I always set this with powder and had no problems with it fading or creasing.
Laura Geller | Filter First Foundation
First of all I think this foundation has been discontinued, but I think I’ve seen a new luminous foundation from them in the works. I’m not mad that this foundation has been discontinued, as even though I like it, I wouldn’t put it in my top three. I always found that this foundation stayed tacky, so it had to be set with a powder which kind of defeated the luminous aspect.
Repurchase?: Even if it hadn’t been discontinued, probably not.
Glossier | Priming Moisturiser
I loved using this as a hydrating base for my makeup, as my dry skin needs all the help it can get. This has some amazing ingredients in it, like: Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E. Which means it left my skin feeling hydrated and my foundation always sat nicely over the top. This lasted me a long time too, as you really don’t need to use that much.
Repurchase?: I wouldn’t rush, but it’s not a bad product. Maybe one day.
Nip+ Fab | Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads
These were a huge factor of what smoothed out my skin when I was suffering with texture. My skin instantly looked a lot better after I has used these for a few days. Since I’ve used them up, I’ve got to say that I’ve not missed them. I think I slightly prefer the Dragons Blood Cleansing Pads, so I’ll look for those next time.
Repurchase?: I’ll try and get the Dragons Blood pads next time.
The Body Shop | Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream
I absolutely loved using this moisturiser. It’s not greasy at all which is something I was a little worried about with it being an intense cream. When I ran out of the Glossier Priming Moisturiser I switched to this and this makes a great base for makeup, so I’ll be switching to this permanently. I thought I would be struggling with my dry skin now that it’s Winter, but I’m sure that this has helped my skin to feel hydrated.
There we have it: my Empties #5. I probably should have done this post earlier, so it wasn’t so long, but I hope you enjoyed it!
