It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to do a haul, so I’m very excited about this. This haul has been a long time coming as I have wanted to order from Lights Lacquer for the longest time. Lights Lacquer is a US nail polish brand owned by YouTuber Kathleen Lights, and I’m very excited to finally have these in my collection.
Let’s get into my Lights Lacquer Haul and UK Shipping Experience.
The Packaging
For some reason I was a little shocked by the boxes they arrived in. I’m not quite sure why, I just thought it would be a little more colourful. I do however love the cut outs on the front of the different nail shapes with the colour peeking out behind. It’s a cute idea and the more I look at it the more I like it.
UK Shipping Experience
I placed my order on August 7th and expected a delay due to Covid, so I know that I can’t be too mad with the time taken for it to arrive. At checkout there was an option for a slightly faster delivery, but for the extra cost I didn’t see the point, as regular shipping was already a lot. With regular international shipping it claimed to take 4-15 days, but it took eighteen and to top everything off I got a Ā£20 customs fee.
Yeah… this order cost a lot, so I won’t be ordering again unless their’s a change with custom fees. It’s a lot of money to pay when you’ve already paid shipping and just doesn’t seem worth it for me. This has nothing to do with the products, but getting it here is a struggle.
What I Bought
I picked two gift sets and two individual shades, so I have seven nail colours and a top coat. I’ve included swatches on a nail wheel on the bottom that have two coats.
It’s also worth noting that these polishes contain no: Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Camphor or Formaldehyde Resin, Xylene, Ethyl, Tosylamide, TPHP, or Parabens.
Amethyst
As soon as I saw this shade I knew I had to try it, I mean look at it. This is my dream glitter nail polish, as it applies easily and isn’t chunky. Amethyst is described as a Deep Purple with Rainbow Shimmers to Relieve Stress, Provide Peace and Spiritual Intuition. I’m ready to feel like a new person with those claims. This is going to be perfect for Autumn and Winter, especially Christmas times.
Serendipity
This is the red shade from the top row in the first photo and it really shows the pink undertone that you can’t see here or on the swatch. Serendipity is described as a classic, bold red, with a slight pink undertone. This is a true red, and I can see it being a staple in my collection.
Ruby
This is another shade that I knew I wanted to own due to how beautiful it is. Ruby is described as a deep burgundy red base with red glitter flakes that Encourages Love, Inner Strength + Passion. When I first swatched this I noticed how chunky the glitter flakes were which made it a little hard to apply, but it is a beautiful colour. I’m sure I’ll be wearing this all throughout December.
Alexandrite
Alexandrite is described as a purple with intense blue iridescent shift to Bring Luck and Enhance Self Esteem. I’m not too sure about how I feel about this and it’s a lot sheerer than the other shades. With the others it feels like you can get away with one coat, but with this you’re probably going to need three.
Paper Snow
Whenever I would get acrylics in the Summer I would always go for white, and as I’ve stopped getting my nails done I knew I had to pick this up. Paper Snow is described as a true white, in a creme formula. I will be bringing this out next Spring and Summer for sure.
Mila
This kind of colour was my go to back in the day and hopefully I love it just as much this time around. Mila is described as an Ivory with cool undertones. This shade is from the Your Nails, but Better collection and is designed to softly, transform & elongate your nail palette.
Cherry Jelly
Now this is my kind of red, as much as I love a classic red there is something so special about this shade. Cherry Jelly is described as a cherry red with a translucent jelly like finish. I have a feeling that this one is going to be my favourite.
So Over It
I’ve never used a top coat before, but I know how important they are for prolonging the nail colour, so I decided to go for this one. So Over It is designed to prevent the colour fading and add shine.
The swatches from top to bottom: Amethyst, Serendipity, Ruby, Alexandrite, Paper Snow, Mila and Cherry Jelly.
There we have it! That was my Lights Lacquer Haul and UK Shipping Experience. Overall I am in love with the shades, but I won’t be ordering again with the custom fees; it’s too much.
Have you tried this brand?

Wow, that’s not good to be stung for a customs fee – I can quite see why you won’t be ordering again! That said, the colours are lovely – my favourite is Cherry Jelly š Lisa x
Oh wow what a collection you have here. It seems you really covered your bases. And have all the key colors for the next two seasons. Too bad about the custom fees being so high.

I have so many of the Lights Laquer and KL poslishes from Kathleen, and I’m just obsessed with her polishes. The shipping is pretty high for us too, considering most stores have free shipping after a certain amount. Nonetheless, I still think that all the polishes I have from her, I love! I actually don’t own any of the shades you purchased, but I’ve been dying to get my hands on alexandrite! It seems right up my alley. I’m so sorry to hear that you won’t be repurchasing cause of the customs cost! Great post Han xxx

These colors are so pretty and bold but I totally hear you – being an American living in London the customs and VAT are the bain of my existence!
