Empties #2

I haven’t done an empties post in so long (mainly because I forget to save the empty bottles). It’s finally time to do another one, so here is a selection of products I have used up, and my thoughts on them.

Too Faced | Hangover 3 in 1 Setting Spray

I feel like I need to stop talking about this for a while, as it seems to be popping up all over the place. In all fairness I love it. I got it in September, and it ran out in December. That might not be very long, but I do overuse it. You can use this for priming, setting and refreshing, and the Coconut water aspect makes it especially refreshing. This has been great for my dry skin, but it’s not so great if you like a matte finish. I have a full review on this, if you’d like to read more.

Repurchase? Already have!

Rimmel | Lasting Finish Foundation SPF 20

This was my go to foundation in Summer last year, and I used it pretty much everyday. I love full coverage foundation, but my dry skin doesn’t. This foundation contains comfort serum, so it isn’t drying at all; which is a huge bonus. It comes with a pump which is a huge bonus. The shade range isn’t the best, as there are only seven shades to pick from. If you want to find out more, you can read my review.

Repurchase? I haven’t, but I really need to!

L’Oréal | Paradise Mascara

When I first used this mascara I wasn’t much for it, but after a little while it becomes much better. It’s like it has to dry out a little before you use it. This mascara doesn’t clump, and it lengthens the lashes too. I apply two/ three coats of this to get the amount that I like, as I have short straight lashes. The brush is very similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, so if you’re after a budget friendly one, then this is one to look at.

Repurchase? Yes!

Soap and Glory | Thick and Fast Mascara

I got this for Christmas in a set in 2016. Even though it’s been empty for a while it’s been sat in my mascara tub at the bottom of the pile for a while. (For some unknown reason). I wouldn’t say I’m blown away with this, and it’s definitely not my favourite mascara, but it isn’t the worst. It’s great at lengthening the lashes, but it does transfer throughout the day. I have another one of these that I got in a 2017 set, that I still use occasionally.

Repurchase? No. It’s good, but the transfer is annoying.

TonyMoly | Magic Food Banana Sleeping Mask

If there’s something I talk about a lot on this blog, it’s this night mask. It has well and truly earned it’s place on my favourites page. I got this in December last year, and it ran out in late June of this year. I don’t want to go into too much detail here, as I have done a full review on it, so going over it all again, doesn’t seem to make much sense. After using this, my skin feels instantly hydrated and feels a lot better in the morning. Plus if you like the smell of bananas then this is for you!

Repurchase?: Definitely

Revolution | Conceal & Define Concealer

I’ve never spoke about this concealer on my blog before, but it’s been well and truly loved. There was a lot of hype around this when it was first released, as it’s supposed to be a dupe for the trusty Tarte Shape Tape. I have the shade C1, and I find that isn’t quite pale enough, so I’ll probably try the newer lighter shade of C0.5 next time. With concealers I always set them with powder, as this makes sure it won’t crease. This is the kind of concealer that needs to be set, so that’s something to keep in mind. I wouldn’t call this full coverage, but more medium with a matte finish. There are 25 shades to pick from and it costs £4

Repurchase?: Once I’ve got through some of my other concealers

Too Faced | Born This Way Foundation

This has been on my wish list for absolutely ages, and I’m gutted I didn’t try it sooner. It’s pretty much everything I’ve been looking for in a foundation. The only downside is the price, and I’ve gotten through the bottle pretty quickly. The added coconut water is amazing for hydration, which is exactly what my skin needs. I love the finish this gives, as you’re left with a really subtle glow that seems really natural, but you get amazing medium full coverage depending on how much you’ve applied.

Repurchase?: Definitely!

Pixi | Glow Tonic

I first mentioned this in my Night time skin care routine from December, and I have been using it ever since. Pretty much everyone raves about this, and it’s clear to see why. At first I thought £18 was a bit steep for a toner, but for the results it’s pretty worth it. I’ve really notice an improvement with my skin, as it’s smoother and has more of a glow to it than usual. I hated the scent at first, but after continued use, I got used to it, and for the past couple of months I’ve not even noticed it.

Repurchase?: Maybe in the future, but I want to try other Toners first

The Body Shop | Coconut Body Milk

Since I’ve recently done a full review on this, I won’t go in to too much detail here. This is a very lightweight moisturiser, which absorbs quickly, so you aren’t left feeling sticky. It smells amazing, and the scent does linger for a little while which is good. For £8.50 this has lasted me a long time, considering it’s best to be used daily.

Repurchase?: Definitely!

That is all for now!

What have you used up lately?

Thank you for reading!

Great list of empties. My Conceal and Define emptied really quickly. I have both C1 and C 0.5 and if I want brightening I need the lighter version. I love this concealer too. The Rimmel foundation use to be a favorite but I haven’t used it in awhile.

Thank you! It does seem to be one that goes quickly, but it is a little bottle. I’ll definitely have to look into the lighter one. It’s a great foundation!xx

I love this round-up of empties, the Revolution Conceal and Define is also a favourite concealer of mine but I do agree that it is more medium coverage than full coverage!

Thank you! It’s such a great concealer, especially for the price, and yeah it’s still great coverage, but it isn’t full xx

  3. 8th August 2018 / 4:38 pm

My gosh I love the packaging of the banana mask, I must admit I’m really a bit too drawn in by packaging. And I personally love the thick and fast mascara as I find it’s one that doesn’t clump on my lids but still gives a good amount of volume

It’s so cute isn’t it haha?! Don’t worry you aren’t the only one, but it’s alright as it works really well too! Really? I really suffered with transfer, when I used it- maybe I’ll have to rethink that one!xx

  4. 8th August 2018 / 9:39 pm

I loved this empties post! That coconut body milk is going on my list of products to try. I’ve never seen anything like it but it sounds like it will be great. I’ve used the Pixi toner before and really liked it. I also might try the Two Faced setting spray since in this summer heat my makeup doesn’t stay on all day. Thank you for the recommendations! x

I love the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation! I always repurchase it as it works so well for my skin. Love an empties post, I’ve never done one as I always forget to keep the empty bottles! x

omg so many great products !! love ur blog

  8. 9th August 2018 / 9:35 am

Every time I tried to pick up the revolution concealer they didn’t have my shade as it was sold out, it’s definitely a sign of a good concealer! I’ve heard so many good things about the coverage but also loads of people talking about it creasing so definitely think you’re right with needing something to set it! This post has also reminded me that I need to pick up my Pixi glow tonic again, I’ve not had it in my routine for ages! xx

    • 9th August 2018 / 3:05 pm

That’s so true, and it’s been so hard to get ahold of! Yeah, it definitely needs setting into place. The Pixi Glow Tonic is a fab toner, and I hope you love it again, if you pick it up xx

  9. 9th August 2018 / 9:59 am

These are all such nice products! I need to try that L’oreal mascara. I have to agree, I also love it when my mascara gets just a touch drier; especially if it was a bit too wet to begin with. Have you tried the new Too Faced concealer? They say it is a Shape Tape dupe, so I am curious xx

    • 9th August 2018 / 3:08 pm

Thank you, I’m glad you think so! It’s fab, and one a lot of people seem to love. Yes sometimes they work so much better when they dry out a little bit. I haven’t, but I’ve heard the same!xx

  10. 9th August 2018 / 11:17 am

I really wanna try the Rimmel foundation. Anything that has moisturizing things in it and works good for dry skin type I already love! Also I’m super lucky because my skin shade isn’t that hard to pick and pretty much every foundation range, no matter how big or small has my shade or something very very similar! <3

    • 9th August 2018 / 3:10 pm

It’s a fab foundation, especially for the price! It is great for dry skin, the comfort serum works wonders. I’m glad you’ll be able to find your shade!xx

    • 9th August 2018 / 3:12 pm

The comfort serum is fab, it’s better suited to dry skin for sure xx

It’s a brilliant foundation, especially for the price. Yeah, it’s definitely one that’s better when it dries a little xx

  17. 12th August 2018 / 10:35 am

  19. 12th August 2018 / 11:42 am

So many great empties. I’m a huge fan of Pixi Glow tonic and the Rimmel Lasting finish. I really want to try the Loreal mascara and Makeup Rev concealer so I’m glad to read you would repurchase! xx

    • 12th August 2018 / 4:41 pm

Thank you! It’s a great toner, and such a good foundation too. They’re both really great, and definitely worth the hype. It’s just a shame that the concealer doesn’t last very long xx

  20. 13th August 2018 / 3:58 pm

I’m all about using inexpensive makeup, so I’m glad you have a mix of drugstore and high quality brands on this list. I really love revolution makeup products and was considering trying out the concealer. Also, the Too Faced Setting spray looks like something that I might like. I will definitely try that one out!! Thank you and happy Monday!
