Do you have a favourite makeup product? Mine is definitely highlighter, so I was delighted when Jolie Beauty offered to send me some of their brand new ones to try. Which means these were gifted to me, but all opinions are my own.
These highlighters are a part of their second skin collection, which I have reviewed; and love. As the range already includes Blushers and Bronzers.
This is my Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighter Review.
The Packaging
These are packaged exactly the same way as the Blush and Bronzers. Which means they arrive in a white holographic box, with the compact cased in bubble wrap. The bubble wrap is such a small touch, but it’s great to make sure the powder it’s self doesn’t shatter whilst it’s being delivered.
Again the compacts are exactly the same as the blusher and bronzers. The compacts are a reflective rose gold with the Jolie Beauty logo in white across the front. I do think the packaging looks beautiful, but I’m not too keen on it being reflective. As it doesn’t take long for it to become covered in finger prints.
The Price
These highlighters retail for £16.99 which puts them in the mid range category. For that you get a net weight of 13g which I think is a great amount.
The Shade Range
In the second skin highlighter range there are four shades to pick from. These are: Saintly, Dreaming, Paradise and Euphoria. Which seem to cater to a lot of skin tones, as there seems to be a noticeable difference between them. I received Saintly and Dreaming which cater to light and medium skin tones.
Saintly
This highlighter is beautiful. If you have pale skin then you will love this. It’s pale without being white, as there is some gold in there too. This is your classic champagne, but an absolutely amazing take on it. Not only is the colour beautiful, but the formula matches it too. There is no chunky glitter and it is extremely smooth. This has never highlighted textured, instead it glides on for a beautiful sheeny finish.
Dreaming
This shade confuses me. First of all it’s not as dark as it looks here. It doesn’t matter when I photographed it, my camera would always make it look a few shades darker. I will admit that when I saw this I immediately thought it was going to be too dark for me, but it’s not that bad. If I wanted to I could get away with it, but it will be a better match when I’ve tanned. It definitely applies lighter than it looks, which is not what I was expecting at all. It has the same beautiful formula as Saintly which means it glides onto the skin without emphasising texture and there is no chunky glitter.
The Swatches
Top to Bottom: Saintly and Dreaming.
Saintly is definitely my perfect shade, but Dreaming will be coming out when I’ve fake tanned. Which I am pleasantly surprised about.
Overall these are beautiful highlighters. I will admit that I’ve been in a bit of a highlighter rut recently. As I haven’t known what to use, but now I’m always reaching for Saintly. I love how there’s no chunky glitter, but you can still get a really intense glow that doesn’t look like a grey stripe.
A huge thank you to Jolie Beauty for sending these out.
That was my Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighter Review.
Have you tried Jolie Beauty?
Thank you for reading.
These highlighters look so beautiful! I love when they have a lot of product and great value. Dreaming looks amazing and I’m glad it actually is lighter in colour than the photo because it definitely looks like the colour of my bronzer haha x

They really are! Me too, it’s amazing how much product you get. It’s weird isn’t it? I was very surprised when it came out so dark, but applies really light. It’s definitely a strange one xx

These are beautiful. I see what you mean about it looking too dark though, it looks a lovely colour swatched! Saintly is definitely a perfect shade!
I am so glad you think so too! It’s so weird as it photographs dark, but comes out a lot lighter. I was shocked when I applied it and saw how light it was xx

I haven’t heard of Jolie beauty, but that highlighter Saintly looks gorgeous. I sometimes struggle to find highlighters as I’m just medium skin toned but fairing on the lighter side, and sometimes find them too white or too dark, but I love that that shade has some gold running through it to warm it up! xx

I love the sound of these! It’s been a long time since I wore highlighter but I would consider getting the Jolie beauty ones. I’ve not heard of this brand before so did having a look into them. Thanks for sharing.
