The 2026 Flashback Update
It is always fascinating… and slightly humbling, to look back at old project pan goals. Reading through this archive update from May 2023 feels like a total time capsule. It reminds me of the seasons when makeup took a backseat to real life, and how some products simply refuse to die.
Because I love looking back at what actually worked versus what got pushed to the side, I’ve left my original 2023 progress report below exactly as it was.
Back to the Update
It’s finally time for the first update of my 2023 project pan. It’s a weird one because it feels like I wrote the original a lifetime ago. When in reality it was only the beginning of January. However I can’t wait to share my progress with you, as even though I’ve barely had the time to wear makeup so far this year, I do have some empties.
Note: I’ll be keeping the updates the same as last year, by only including photos where you can see a difference in the product.
This is my project pan 2023 May update.
Charlotte Tilbury | Dancefloor Princess
Discontinued

Original on the left, and updated on the right.
The Progress Report: I’ve barely had chance to wear this since my original post, so the progress has been minimal. It doesn’t surprise me, as I’ve barely had the chance to wear makeup so far this year, and when I do I always forget to put lipstick on. I’ve always reached for a gloss, so this has been pushed to the side.
Charlotte Tilbury | Flawless Filter
The Progress Report: This is never ending. I was 100% convinced that I’d have this finished last year, and well… it’s still going. Luckily I enjoy using it, but I want it finished.
Fenty | Fu$$y Gloss Bomb
The Progress Report: I feel like I’ve made good progress on this, but it’s hard to tell, as the product moves around the tube. I’m convinced that I’ll have this finished soon.
Fenty | Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder
Discontinued
The Progress Report: I have the tiniest amount left of this, so it’ll be done for the next update for sure. I’ve really enjoyed using it, but I’m ready to get it into the empties pile.
Maybelline | Fit Me Concealer
The Progress Report: I’ve been really enjoying using this concealer, and from what I can tell I’ve got a lot left. I’m not mad about it though, as I love the formula.
ColourPop | That’s Taupe Eyeshadow Palette

Original on the left, update on the right.
The Progress Report: I thought it was a really good idea to include this palette here. As it’s no secret how much I love the shade: ‘Snake Eyes’. However, I’m not enjoying the shade in this palette, as much as I enjoyed the single. This version feels very purple, where as the one I had before was more of a taupe. I’m convinced they’re different, but there’s not really a lot I can do about it.
Maybelline | Sky High Mascara
The Progress Report: I didn’t realise how little was left in this mascara, and I finished it rather quickly. Admittedly it’s not my favourite mascara, and I don’t want to spoil my future empties post, but… I won’t be repurchasing.
Empty Status: All gone!
Soap and Glory | Supercat Skinny Eyeliner
The Progress Report: This is another thing that’s showing no signs of stopping, and I’m really enjoying using it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Amrezy Highlighter
Discontinued

Original on the left, updated on the right.
The Progress Report: This is one of my favourite highlighters, and I’m glad that I’m focusing on it. It’s a nice change from the Charlotte Tilbury one, that I included in my project pan last year; even though that one is still beautiful. As you can see it looks pretty much the same, but I have been using it regularly. I’m actually shocked by the lack of progress of this, as it’s one of the things that I’ve been reaching for all of the time.
Urban Decay | All Nighter Setting Spray
The Progress Report: We have another empty! I love this setting spray, but I’m glad to have it gone, as I definitely don’t need to have two in my collection at the same time.
Empty Status: We have another empty!
The May Lineup Swaps:

OUT: Maybelline Sky High Mascara – Our first empty!
IN: ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Koosh. – the goal is to finish the whole thing.
OUT: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – Another empty.
IN: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel – the goal is to use it up.
The Final Verdict
And that’s it for my progress for May. I’m so happy to have two empties already! I’ll be honest; I thought there would be more, but two is better than none. Let’s lock in and try to get some more.

Nice and interesting post! Now, when it comes to the Maybelline Sky High mascara, I personally love the way it makes my eyelashes look in terms of adding volume and lifting them up, but I ALWAYS have this impression that I run out of it pretty quickly compared to some other mascaras that I use. Either it dries out too soon or it’s only halfway filled when manufactured, I don’t know what else it could be. As happy as I am with that mascara I think I’ll keep looking for one that gives the same length and volume, but lasts much longer.

It was interesting seeing your project pan update! It does look like you made good progress with using a lot of these products!
Oh my you have so many great products here. I recently tried a few items from Fenty and I am impressed thus far. I LOVE CT, I so want to try this foundation. I hope you can post again soon but know you must be very busy.

I’ve been meaning to catch up with your blog for blooming ages! This is such a great idea, I need to reach pan on most of my make-up still. I have stopped buying so much the past 3 or so years though, but so much to get through. Anyway, I haven’t tried Charlotte Tilbury’s flawless filter or the lippy you mentioned, but they are on my list to try.

I love hitting the pan when it comes to makeup. Also, Colour pop eyeshadows are one of the best makeup products.
Thank you for sharing all these lovely products.
