It feels so incredibly good to be back at my laptop and writing a classic, monthly favourites.
If you saw my last monthly favourites then you’ll know that I’ve started to lean more towards lifestyle content. The vibe is: Cosy Lifestyle Blog, so let’s see how we get on. I really enjoy blending honest everyday chats with real product reviews, so it should be fun.
Because I had taken a little break from posting at the start of that year, this favourites list was a beautiful mixture of long-time makeup staples and some major home updates. When you aren’t constantly buying new releases to experiment with, you naturally stick to the reliable pieces you already own and love. Let’s look back at the ultimate post lockdown beauty heroes and lifestyle moments that made that spring so special!
Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette
Discontinued
This gorgeous palette was a standout favourite throughout 2020, and it remained firmly at the front of my drawer well into 2021. Whenever I was in a rush, I knew I could rely on it to create a quick, seamless, and easy eye look without a single problem.
While Too Faced has since discontinued this iconic peach-scented dream, they do regularly tease it’s re-release.
Fenty | Fu$$y Gloss Bomb
While on the topic of sticking to trusted favourites, this became my absolute go-to lip gloss. The shade Fussy is a stunning medium pink with a fine gold pearl that seems to compliment absolutely every single makeup look. It offers a beautiful, subtle wash of colour, and the formula itself is entirely non sticky. I love wearing this completely on its own without any lipstick underneath because it feels incredibly hydrating.
Charlotte Tilbury | Dancefloor Princess Lipstick
Discontinued
This lipstick became my daily staple for a very specific reason: I made it my absolute goal to finish the entire tube. Let’s just say that panning this product completely opened my eyes to just how long a single bullet of lipstick actually lasts.
The Retrospective Update: This beautiful pop-pink formula (inspired by Kylie Minogue) has since been discontinued by Charlotte Tilbury. Knowing it’s no longer on the shelves makes me even happier that I dedicated so much time to truly using and loving it rather than letting it sit forgotten in a drawer.
Our Living Room Started to Come Together
This home project was unfolding behind the scenes for months. In the winter, Jake and I finally started putting our own personal spin on our living room, and I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We stripped the old wallpaper, painted the walls, got fresh carpet fitted, and finally had our new sofa delivered. It instantly made the house feel so much more homely and cozy. We picked out our wallpaper and set out to find those perfect finishing touches. We’re a long way off perfection, but I’m so happy with it.
Being Able To Go Out Again
April 2021 brought the milestone of local spots finally opening back up, meaning we could safely leave the house for some normal fun. Jake and I wasted absolutely no time. We immediately went out shopping for bits to finish the house and stopped off at a local pub for a quiet drink. It really made me realise how much I had missed the simple things, and how much I truly enjoy not having to do the dishes afterward.
The Low-Buy Reflection
Looking back at these old memories is a wonderful reminder of what a sustainable beauty and home routine looks like. When you find yourself reaching for the same eyeshadow palette year after year, dedicating yourself to completely finishing a single lipstick, or slowly upgrading your living space step-by-step, you are building an intentional life you love.

I love that peach palette! I actually have the matte peachy palette, but haven’t reached for it in forever! I might have to pull it out of the drawer and get some new use out of it!
